I've got a hypothesis about the yellowing. Depending on the day and mix of the plastic certain batches are more prone to yellowing. This is why a top will yellow and a bottom won't or vice versa.

So quick question, but not before saying I love the videos, this is a PAL unit so it runs at 50hz instead of 60hz if I recall correctly? Does a 50hz unit have any value when opposed to a 60hz unit? Just asking. Thanx for the great video!

Hah, nice to see we had the exact same repair for the blown fuse. My son brought the SNES from my wife's youth home from the in-laws a while back and after a lot of cleaning up the liquid damage and testing I found the fuse to be blown. I thought, hmmm, I have this bin of various glass fuses and a bunch of clips, might as well use these. That, along with a couple other small repairs got it working and now the kids play Super Mario World more than X-Box.

I have a question. Any broken bits of plastic, like that "post" you mentioned, are things like that repairable?
I got a second SNES (after very first successfully doing a full recap + additional capacitors to eliminate the "vertical line / vertical band" in my 1994 "SNS-CPU-RGB-01" console's video image), and when I went to open it (I got an "SHVC-CPU-01" model; also I am sorry, mine are North American units, but basically, the SHVC I got, I believe is the earliest released revision / model of SNES that we got), one of the screw "posts" that holds the two console shell halves together, was broken off and rattling around inside the console, and I did hole on to it.
I was wondering about something like epoxy, or would that be strong enough to cement it back into place AND be strong enough to use with the screw again, or is there something much better and stronger than epoxy?

I like the fuse upgrade, but without mechanical attachment on the holders, that's a lifted pad and torn trace waiting to happen, should that fuse ever need to be replaced (which I suspect there's a very real chance of). I'd have looked into the practicality of putting a hole through the PCB for a screw or pop-rivet.

Do you have a list of your equipment anywhere? Including your transistors and fuses.

The Super (Loch) NESsy (Monster) shuts off after 30 seconds due to the coolant running out. All the heat pipes and copper tubing appear to be missing from that console and the powerhouse 3.58 megahertz processor is tripping the thermal protection.

That beefy processor needs serious cooling capabilities. Its the exact same processor that was in the Sega Master System, so take that SNESsy fans. Yall paid $189 for a processor that was in a $50 sega console. Good ol' Nintendo, charging premium bucks for old slow hardware.

700mhz processor in the switch. Even a $40 TracFone had a 1.1ghz processor when Switch released.

Nintendo knows it has the industry by the short hairs. There won't be any Nintendo product capable of 4k60 until 2030. Dollars to donuts. Pounds to crumpets. Euros to croissants. LEGO to Duplo.

I'm still not clear what happened at the end of this video. He fixed the one with the bad fuse, and then took the guts from that one and put it in the better case.

So what became of the beige one and the guts inside that one? He's just not going to fix that one at all?

i wish I could fix my switch...the tech doesnt know what is wrong with it..fan turns on when it loads but when playing the game fan shuts off and over heats

well you should be able to - 80% just need the cabinet cracked open and a simply cleaning.

I have the same problem as the first SNES. How can I fix that with no other SNES to replace parts with? The game looks like it loads but stops after some screen. For example the capcom screen on street fighter 2. Any help would be appreciated.
