If your CYA level is over 50 and you keep using tablets you are headed for problems. It’s just as easy to add a few caps of bleach as it is to put tabs in a floater. Liquid chlorine may need more frequent dosing but it saves so much money and time in the long run. Most homeowners start using pucks because they see the pool service guys using them — but that’s just because they visit the pool just once a week. I fired 4 different pool service companies before deciding I could do the job better myself. Liquid chlorine was the key to success (borates too)
