Brain and Behavior - Introduction to Brain and Behavior

I have so many questions. I’m convinced that in some way I might have damaged my brain by weed ( I’m not a smoker or smoked for so many years) but when I did smoke I had some very intense events with weed along with some traumatic events which caused me to deal with instrusive thoughts and anxiety. I don’t smoke or drink anymore but I still deal with the this crap. I legit want to scan my brain and see what areas are effected and how I can fix it

Do the synapses "allow" us to do what we do, or are they merely correlates to our behavior? The "why" behind the behavior isn't necessarily in the neurology, the neurology may simply be a correlate to the behavior. Block the synapses, the behavior doesn't occur, but likewise, block the behavior, the neurology probably changes. "Cause and effect" is difficult to disentangle here away from correlation evidence.
