RIP Sir Alec Guinness (1914-2000) @ Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi
ОтветитьEven though the sequels screwed up royally, this scene proves that force ghosts could interact with the physical world.
ОтветитьI would think Luke would be a lot more angry here. It seems to me Obi Wan manipulated the truth about his father to ensure Luke would kill him.
ОтветитьAfter Empire Strikes Back and before ROTJ. Did Luke train by himself or he returned to Dagobah first before they rescued Han from Jabba?
Ответить"that is the reason why your sister remains safely anonymous." "... Leia!" "Well shit."
Ответить"luke, did i ever tell you about ahsoka tano?"
ОтветитьAlec Guinness, performs these scenes like he knew the backstory. He clearly loved the role even if he never shown it. The🐐
ОтветитьMark Hamil’s best performance was return of the Jedi boy becomes a man.
ОтветитьLuke: Well i guess it would be awkward to tell me he was my father, i understand as long as there are no more secrets or lies.
Obi-Wan: Mmmm about that. Remember how you kissed Leia and masturbate to that a few times? well...
In empire he realized that his father who he looked up to was a monster and in jedi he realized his father was a monster that the jedi created
ОтветитьThe fact Luke only then In this scene confronts Obi Wan about Vader means that he just ghosted (pun unintended) Luke for a whole year to avoid this conversation
ОтветитьThe interesting part of the whole series is that love, faith, and hope are all that people need.
Obiwan, loves Luke, the way a grandfather would. He is patient and kind beyond reason, he never loses faith in him. However, hope is what Obiwan has lost- the last chance of it is through Luke.
Anakin, has lost hope and faith. The only thing he has left is the love for his son. However through that last bastion of love he was able to find hope and regain his faith.
Luke, had love and hope, but his faith was what he had to find. He had to have faith in his abilities and in the force. Through the love of his father and the hope given to him by Obiwan- he was able to find his faith in himself.
Through the connection of these three they found balance in the force- of life.
I like how there was honestly no reason to make Leia a Skywalker, and plenty of reasons not to (the kissing, mostly lmao), but Lucas did it anyway because fuck it, why not?
ОтветитьLuke did i ever tell you about Ashoka Tano
ОтветитьVader himself said he killed Anakin. Obi-Wan simply related the truth spoken from Vader's mouth.
ОтветитьLuke, did I ever tell you about...
ОтветитьI believe Bert he would have made a great older Ben
ОтветитьSpirit
Ответить"I was wrong." It takes a big person to openly admit to not being perfect. Most people are far too stubborn to admit that they are not infallible. They think that denying their infallibility makes them seem smart to others, but to any rational person it just makes them look stupid.
ОтветитьThis scene itself reflects on my life
“I cannot escape my destiny, I must face my father again.”
Sheldon and Professor Proton😅😂
ОтветитьThe 80s were magnificent
ОтветитьAlec Guinness is the original of Obi-wan
ОтветитьInstead of saying technically speaking like everyone else I just say from a certain point of view
Ответить"Luke, have I ever told you about Ahsoka Tano?"
ОтветитьA certain point of view he had my man luke effed up 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьThe orignal trilogy reveal is better than the sequel trilogy twists. Palpatine should not be the grandpa of rey. Kylo ren is vader grandson/doppelganger or counterpart. Who are similar to han, leia, and leia? Why Ahsoka didnt meet luke as blood or adopted relatives?
ОтветитьAt least he was nice enough to tell him to prevent sweet home Alabama from happening.
Ответитьprequels really messed up anakin's character
ОтветитьAND YOU KISSED YOUR SISTER LUJE!!!
ОтветитьEpisodes 4-6 you can see Obiwan and Yoda lying to Luke. They clearly only wanted Luke to get their revenge for them and kill Vader. They were so sour Anakin destroyed their cult. They even went into hiding same like the Sith had to during the Jedi Order. They never wanted Luke and his friends to succeed in rebelling against the empire. Yoda even told Luke he was to old. Same like he said about young Anakin. Never even told gave Luke the respect of the title of Jedi. Vader/Anakin wiped out both Jedi and Sith.
ОтветитьI always got a kick of "the certain point of view" truth. lol
ОтветитьLet me get this straight. Obi-wan, who, if counting the Kenobi show, had 3 chances to kill Vader.. the most logical chance was at mustafar when he learned he killed children in cold blood, had a third chance to kill him on the Death Star 2 films prior to his one, and now puts the burden on Vader’s impressionable, young, son? Sounds like a true schemer to me. Maybe Anakin had the right idea about the Jedi
ОтветитьIt's fine if Obiwan kept the truth from Luke, but his reasoning behind it is wu-wu.
ОтветитьI swear I can hear the joker a little bit in his voice. Dudes got hella range with acting and voice acting. Marks easily the best joker
ОтветитьI’ve seen a deleted scene where Yoda tells Luke he basically told Obi Wan not to tell Luke. I promise I’m not kidding.
ОтветитьI consider this one of my favorite scenes from the entire Star Wars franchise. After watching the entire series in order, this scene is amazing, especially since it captured everything so accurately. And this came before the prequels were even a thought. Such a well written scene. And acted so well by the late and great Alec Guinness.
ОтветитьI’m glad Alec Guiness lived long enough to make one more appearance as Obi Wan
Definitely loved this going back to the first film establishing how true trilogies work
It's ironic the prequels showed Anakin as a moralless soar loser who has anger issues. Who Skywalker could have been, described by Kenobi, had he been written by someone capable is something I'll never know.
Ответить"You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did". - Darth Vader
ОтветитьOBI wan violated the first point of the scout law “a scout is trustworthy”-lord Baden powell
ОтветитьLooking back with an overly critical lens (because why not, its fun), I feel like Obi-Wan's dialogue is a bit too wishy-washy and evasive from a writing standpoint rather than a 'meant to inform on the character' way. Generally speaking in the broad strokes you get the sense that Obi-Wan didn't want to tell Luke the truth because he either didn't want to hurt him from a place of kindness or he wanted to discourage him from a more pragmatic, 'whatever it takes' sense, but looking specifically at how he describes it it feels less like Obi-Wan is doing that and more the writers are. His little 'from a certain point of view' flourish is hard not to come off as a bit comical as a result, why is this wise mentor character suddenly speaking legalese to get around the fact that he lied? I guess if the point is to try to subtly say 'yeah Obi-Wan isn't all good' as some people have suggested that's fine, but the language of the film going forward still seems to justify him by the end, having him show up as a force ghost hanging out with Anakin and all that. 'Oh yeah I told your son to just kill you the first chance he got once he was strong enough but guess he found another way, all's well that ends well'. I'd either have liked Obi to have been more regretful or penitent in this scene, or if they keep it like this, to have driven home the point more with a Luke 'you were wrong' scene later on, or something to that effect.
