i dont get it, when i change my input and output to the interface i dont hear anything anymore. so why would i do that

I've been locked out of my fl studio account for a year. Computer tower crashed. Windows xp. M audio guitar and microphone non powered interface, asio4all on that computer. No latency. Now got my account back, fl studios made me upgrade my 10 to fl 20. I'm also on laptop now Windows 7. Crap. No matter what I do, latency. Asio4all cracks and pops, no matter what I do. Fl studio asio no cracks and pops, but there is no option to drop buffer to 128. 256 is the lowest and I cant convert words in real time. Delay between when I speak and what I'm hearing in headphones is killlllllllliiinnnnnggg me. Can anyone 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 please 🙏 😢 help??????

Managed to start recording but my vocals sound weird --- like it doubles and sounds metallic. Also I keep switching between Asio4all and my UR 12 Asio just to record and then playback. What could be the cause?

On my Mac, I followed all the steps with the scarlet interface, the output and Input are connected with the scarlet interface and when I go to record with the producer edition in FL studios, I just get a line that shows up and no sound on the playback. I ran the scarlet through Audition and the interface works just fine but I'm not sure about what could cause FL studios to recognise that I am recording and not actually record or play back any sound

why does the latency increase greatly when using an audio interface

i can dot his just fine but when i go to record it says i need to record through an ASIO device. Why would i need to do this and why can't i just record through the interface?

Doesn't seem to be my problem. There is no sound but the notes can be seen playing yet the master channel doesn't move as if FL studio can't detect the sounds.

Is there a way I can hear my interface without having to plug in my headphones into the interface and keep them plugged into my computer? I only want to hear it when I boot up FL studio. The interface I have btw is the Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD

Did everything, still didn’t work

Every time I go to select an input channel i get a notification saying this- 'You've selected an external input. Do you want to switch to External input only to avoid recording internal audio on this track?' Everytime I click Yes or No, nothing happens. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? This is the first time this has happened. I have been using this same microphone for 6 months and it worked just fine, I never touched or changed any audio settings either. This only started to happen after I updated my FL Studio.

If using an audio interface, in FL Studio are you supposed to set the Input / Output to "ASIO" for the audio interface.

As an example, I'm using FL Studio 12 Producer edition (on old Win 7 32 bit laptop) and got an M-Audio Air 192 4 interface and Akai MPK mini controller.

When I plug the controller straight into USB on my computer the latency is good. But I want to use the audio interface in the chain to improve sound quality and so I can listen to music on computer and play sounds in FL Studio simultaneously (using ASIO default option in FL Studio makes FL take exclusive control of sound and can't listen to music simultaneously).

When I set Input / Output > Device > M-Audio AIR 192 4 ASIO - the sound works for like 10 seconds then cuts out.
I assume I need to use the ASIO option because when I try to record something, FL Studio says I need to use ASIO Input (?).

I think I just need a different interface and the driver of the interface isn't playing nicely with FL Studio and maybe my ancient laptop. Pretty annoying though that a $100 interface gives me worse latency and no recording ability and it works better to plug controller straight into my computer.
