"Installed Capacity: 6800MW". Capacity is an amount of energy (e.g. 1MWh). 6800MW is an energy output.
Example:
An light bulb consumes 60W. In one hour it consumes 60W * 1h = 60Wh. In two hours 60W*2h = 120Wh.
So we differentiate between a snapshot and a consumed quantity over a period of time. Classic mistake ;-)
But the difference is very important.
If this reservoir has 6800MW power, it can supply x buildings. If the reservoir has 6800MWh capacity, it can supply X houses for a time of Y hours, where X*Y=megawatt hours of the reservoir.
