2015 MacBook Air vs 2020 M1 MacBook Air

I just bought macbook air 2015 a couple days ago and i hope it worth to buy it in 2022

I'm in the process of trying to decide if I should upgrade from the 2015 MacBook air to this newer version (I know the 2022 is coming out soon, but no interest in that honestly). I love the way you share your own opinions as well as the facts! Thank you! I have a PC as well as my current laptop and a newer iPad, but the iPad doesn't work for video editing and mac products are great for editing so... I think i might bite the bullet and finance haha! Thanks for making this! My original MacBook Air was the base 2015. The screen died on it around summer 2020 and I had to go back to windows. I’m about to get this MacBook and I’m extremely excited! I would have went back to one before but I didn’t have the money to at the time. I’ve missed Mac so much, I’m so happy to be back. :)

I'm planning to upgrade my 2015 to 2020 this Prime day. Might go for the Pro instead, will see.

the Og model Air was in 2008 and very over priced. in 2012 or 2013 it got a redesign to the unibody models everyone is used to and the last MacBook Air with the unibody design was a 2017. they had a good run :(

Also, the 2015 (which was the same in 2017) was the last version to allow upgrades (SSD) and replacements (battery) easily. Good luck doing that yourself with the new retina versions!

Touch ID, kind of moot since you could use your watch to unlock with both these years.

Considering it's a comparison video, I expected at least a speed test for app opening and overall fluency in the performance comparison. Otherwise everyone knows what you have talked about. AS you have used both, you should pin point the usage case for us to decide if 2015 Macbook Air is still worth buying..

planning to install linux mint xfce on 2015 early air

Hi, I had to stop with macbooks after ForceTouch trackpads. I generate excess static (always have) and the forcetouch pad goes mad when I touch it.
The staff in the Apple shop just could not understand why the mouse jumper crazily and unpredictably when I did the most simple of tasks. They tried many different settings, and after an hour, they suggested I used an external mouse. I did not buy a Macbook. I shall stick with my 2015 MBA.
