John Lennon - The Luck of the Irish without yoko's vocals

I remember running to the store to buy this album. I probably knocked over several people to get my hands on it. I expected great things since Imagine was the latest album. At the age of 15, I couldn't have given a shit about what was going on in northern Ireland and come to think of it, I'm sure John didn't either. The whole album thoroughly sucked even without Yoko's 'contributions. ' I worked a minimum wage job to buy it so it took about 4 hours of my time. You had to buy music back then! What a piece of poop.

No Yoko, no John Lennon solo, no Imagine. They were a package. I prefer the release version.

I listened to a version that featured Yoko's 'Vocals', just before I saw this version. I much preferred the one with her getting involved - i love my songs (sort of) sang by squawking, ghoul faced extras from the film 'The grudge'. Half the fun is trying to make out what she is actually singing about. I make a game of it. I've got a sneaky feeling that English isn't her first language. Perhaps she's irish. Yoke O'ono. Sure thats an irish name if ever I heard one. Fair play to ye, Yoke.

Shite album. I first heard it in 1981, it was dated even then. Ended up giving it to an Irish Republican in Belfast in the late 80s. He thought it was contrived, self serving bollox from a plastic Liverpool paddy gobshite and the howling from Yoko on the live album you get with it, was worse than the white noise torture he'd endured in RUC custody.

Yoko is not a singer , so the song should be sing by the singer .

So apparently I am not the only one to have digitally removed Yoko from the sometime in New York City recording..

I had never heard this song before.
Like many people in the British Isles, l had been taught about the ‘famine’ and the highland clearances but somehow got onto this site and having English , Irish and Scottish heritage , the possibility that what you say happened was true , leaves me horrified and conflicted.

Imo would've been a huge hit if it weren't for the Yoko vocals.
