Later when she's killing lords that wouldn't bend the knee, why was anyone surprised?

Tyrion tried to warn her from the very beginning.

The writers caused far more damage than any army or dragon.

Nice to have great writers.

Well to be fair… the wheel is broken if it’s nothing but ash and therefore can’t turn…

But Season 8 ain’t canon.

This is the moment the show could have moved into truly great territory. Instead of devolving into a generic and forgettable mess it could have focused on Daenerys' quest to break the old world and forge a new one, clashing with the Night King and possibly the Lord of Light along the way.

There is not a better advisor in the seven kingdoms.

Tyrion: "And how are you going to break the wheel?"
Daenerys: "Soon I conquer King's Landing and everyone surrenders I'm going to burn everyone and destroy the city".
Tyrion: "Why?"
Daenerys: "I don't know, ask D&D".

D&D: "I guess Daenerys kinda forgot... What was the purpose of her conquest and she ends up kinda forgetting that she won and that's why she decided to do that, because she was always strong and determined and thought of the ones she freed first, also wanting to end the cycle of violence, but at that moment it didn't make sense for her to be that and so she just burns everyone because Star Wars".

She just replaced the old wheel with another wheel. There will be backdoor dealings to determine who replaces Bran. The old lordships still exist.

But her cycle was revenge and that would never stop either.

Anyone ever wished that Daenerys had stayed in Essos and tried to rebuild Valyria rather than go back to westeros?

Isn’t she “home” though? Wasn’t Meereen and the free cities part of the Valyrian empire? Plus the population speak Valyrian, her peoples language while westeros doesn’t.

One thing Tyrion got wrong was that having the Tyrells wasn't enough. The Reach army is 3 times the size of the North, Vale, Riverlands, and twice the size of the Westerlands army. The issue Tyrion might've been referring to is that because the entire Reach is so populated the lesser lords are extremely powerful even in their own right. Not only that but they have more noble blood than the Tyrells and don't listen to them sometimes.

Anyone else remember when this show was good?

Looking back at this part of the conversation, maybe She should've stayed in Mereen. I wish she had stayed and maybe she would've been queen after the Lannisters were finally killed off. (Cersei and maybe Jamie I mean.) But of course if she hadn't gone back to Westeros then the North would've been invaded without her dragons to lend fire support. But not against the Night King though. Far as I know how it happened in the books.

Season 8 makes since Tyrion was right when she arrives in Westeros she is not worshipped or respected she is despised and the people do not except her. Tyrion tried to warn her.

Danaerys: I’m not going to stop the wheel. I’m going to break the wheel

Me: Danaerys you are the wheel. You are going to break yourself.

Despite Tyrion failing her every step of the way, he was right here. Maybe Essos was her home. Maybe she could create a new wheel

That was Daenerys's problem: she was way too impatient. She thought she could force her ways and ideals onto everyone, not thinking about the consequences and not expecting some pushback. Look what happened after she conquered Meereen. She wanted to force the people to accept that slavery was over and that they had to abandons ancient traditions and erase part of their cultural heritage. Not just in Meereen but everywhere she went in Essos: she didn't take time to teach the people nor tried to learn about them. She basically went 'do as I say or I'll sick the Unsullied and my dragons on you'. Result: the people who refused to abandon their ways nearly destroyed her reign and almost succeeded in restarting slavery.

Her reign in Essos was barely established before she started talking about going to Westeros and retaking the Iron Throne and 'bringing down the Nobility'. Like girl slow down, you've got enough problems in Essos as it is. And Tyrion is right: without at least one noble family backing you up, your crusade would end before you even made it across the Narrow Sea, let alone made it to King's Landing.

There's nothing wrong with Daenerys having a long term goal, but she would of been better off starting off with reasonable short term goals. See to Essos, phase slavery out of the cities and merge her ideas with that of the people's traditions. After maybe a couple of decades when the people are completely (or at least mostly) supportive of you, then maybe start making plans to take Westeros.

She says she was going to and her family already had, but when it finally happened a whole bunch of you nerd turds cried about how out of character it was, how bad the writing was etc etc.

Tyrion: Perhaps you should try wanting something else
Dany: Sounds good

Uh, and the Martells, and the remaining riverlords, all of whom aside from the Freys despise the Lannister dynasty, oh, and wars aren't won with only the Great Houses anyway. Every war in Westeros, houses turn on their nominal lords. Happened in Robert's Rebellion, happened like fifteen fucking times in the War of Five Kings. The Starks are gone, he said it himself. How did that happen again? I seem to recall shifting loyalties were involved.

But, this is Plot Tyrion, who is conveniently an idiot when it would be a writing challenge for him not to be.

Not nearly as profound as they make it sound. By breaking the wheel, you stop the wheel. Am I missing something here??

No ladies and gentes the wheel keeps spinning now we have STARKS ruling that wheel I can see every targaryen spinning in the grave at that lol. Tragic shame screw the wheel the fact that we lost the last true dragon rider is blasphemy 😒 and yet drogon decided to let Jon live true pity. I'll never be the same so thanks HBO... for nothing!!!

Really feels like she could have done better just ruling back in Essos, biding her time. At least in the show. It's not like the dragons actually ended up being useful in the war against the dead. Could have just shown up with her army at full strength, perched on top of the red keep and won.

This is the type of interaction we needed in the last seasons, it’s a terrible shame what the show got made into from something so epic…

I don't know why everybody was shocked at Danny becoming tyrannical. She gave hints at her true self throughout the seasons.

Tyrion was right people hated the Targaryens it was pointless of her making her way there she would never of had the support
