'Hot Fuzz' has an eventful Fete!
ОтветитьYou can now claim to be a campanologist.
ОтветитьWatch Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple
ОтветитьHeaven!! I loved the music.
ОтветитьI’m with you - the lambs would have made my favorite things.
ОтветитьI love spontaneous detours! If either of you got murdered at the fete, I’d put seagulls at the top of my list of suspects.
Ответитьsuch a cool bell ringing session!
ОтветитьIt's known as "a Fete worse than death!".
ОтветитьEven we who are not especially religious acknowledge the value of our churches, offering irreplaceable havens
of peace, tranquility and an incentive for remembering historic links with the past. Keep up the good work
with your affectionate entetaining productions.
No visit to the pub ???
ОтветитьPlease check out Rosemary and Thyme it's a murder mystery gardening series. It was a huge hit in the late 90s early 2000s. Right up your alley.
ОтветитьA Fete worse than death 💀
ОтветитьBeautiful quaint villages with an absolutely stunning churches. We love the stained glass. You even got to ring the bell! We're so happy none of you were murdered at the fete. Loved your dream. Thanks so much for bringing us along Dara!
ОтветитьI learn a lots from you. Be friend with me

ОтветитьAwesome video enjoyed watching always stay connected 🌸
ОтветитьCool video! A lot of fun. You are quite the extrovert 😁Stained glass is my thing also. Lovely. Having a go at campanology “appeals “😉
ОтветитьSo amazing you got to ring some church bells, and very glad you survived the fete, hahah. The stained glass in St. Barnabas was gorgeous! This was amazing Dara! Thank you!
ОтветитьCAAAAAAAAKE 🍰
ОтветитьAnother beautiful video Dara! We need to catch up soon!
What! I can’t believe you got to ring the bell!!!!
I love all those shows you listed! It's nice that small towns and villages are community minded enough to continue to organise a fete. It's a lot of work! I've helped with a few school fetes, the best thing about fetes is always the homebaked goods. That carrot cake looked fantastic, really moist which is the secret to a good carrot cake in my opinion.
ОтветитьGreat video Dara , I like how Ian and Luke mentioned food though haha typical men ! Broadwater is beautiful . Loved the font at the church like you did and that chur h was stunning. You had lovely weather :) Enjoying your British videos. Have a good day :) ~ Anna
ОтветитьReally enjoyed your visit to Snowshill village fete. Can't beat a good village fete - coconut shy, hook the duck, tombola...just brilliant! We've been to countless, but no one ever got murdered...even though they were all in Buckinghamshire, where a lot of the Midsomer Murders scenes are filmed.
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful village and church!! I've not been an English fete before, but it looked absolutely charming! I agree, these are some of the best things, you are definitely living the Anglophiles dream! : D
ОтветитьLove your vlogs still. I'm sure you're a proud American, but you'd make a great Brit too! 🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧
ОтветитьThanks for sharing more adorable places with us 😊
ОтветитьThe world's most civilised society. THX
ОтветитьA Fete worse than death, eh?
ОтветитьHey Dara! If you want to include more film and TV locations in a future video, come a little closer to London to the hidden away village of Turville, between High Wycombe and Henley upon Thames. It's like a time warp there.. AND.... the following were all filmed (or have repeatedly used it)
1. The Vicar of Dibley
2. Midsomer Murders
3. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (the windmill on the top of the hill above the village, owned at time of filming by the actress Hayley Mills)
4. Went the day well - a cult propaganda film made during WW2 and banned until after it ended !
These and many others all used Turville for their setting. Not too far a drive from your little English home in Gloucestershire 😉
We love stumbling upon random events. That village fete looked so lovely. Plenty of home made baked goods and crazy competitions. It is so pretty down there. Every village looks like a film set! Loved it 🍻
ОтветитьNo my dear thats not lawn bowling thats Skittles! The origin of ten pin bowling which has graced our pubs and gardens for 500 years.
ОтветитьLoved the Vlog Dara. Great footage.
ОтветитьI've been binge watching "Last of the Summer Wine" lately, and there's a lot to binge watch, the show ran 31 years! - and now I've vowed to go to Holmfirth in West Yorkshire where the show was filmed, next time I go to the UK, Have you been to Holmfirth?
ОтветитьLooks like the only things you guys MURRDERRED were the carrot cakes :)
ОтветитьI'm here for the carrot cake Dara! Big, plump, crumbly, lots of frosting...I could have handled a whole video about it!
ОтветитьHave you considered visiting the Gloucestershire Warwickshire steam Railway it is a preserved Railway between Broadway and Cheltenham Race Course via Toddington Winchcombe And Gotherington . It is a lovely journey through the country side and the Steam trains are fantastic there are plenty of web sites on the subject I have been on the railway early May on holiday in Bourton -on-the-Water
ОтветитьWe had a great time with you and Ian at the village fete. Was so nice for us to watch the video with fond memories! You have done such a great job at capturing the day. Thanks for sharing! Luke & Kay x
ОтветитьThis account was absolutely magnificent, Dara, Ian, Luke and Kay. Thank you one and all for sharing this wonderful event and memory for you all!
ОтветитьI never got to ring a church bell, but I did get to climb the bell tower in the church in Teigh. It was a very narrow spiral stairs complete with dust and spider webs. We stayed at the Teigh Rectory which was the rectory home of Mr. Collins and his wife Charlotte lived (1995 Pride and Prejudice). ❤️
ОтветитьTo Americans, never use the word quaint!
ОтветитьA month’s wages says Luke didn’t get his pie mash! Looked like a nice day you had though.
ОтветитьBeautiful stained glass. It does look like lawn bowling!
ОтветитьRING THAT BELL!!
ОтветитьFun to tag along with you on this outing to the fete! Glad you all made it through!
Ответить🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I expect the vicar and villagers thought there was an invasion happening. Brilliant Dara👏👏
You survived the fete!
Looks a beautiful village and a lovely Church
Stunning stained glass windows!!
A very typical British fete, we have ours in April - with a fun run around the lakes here. Always great fun. 👍👍👍
Nice share Dara 👍👍👍
The lavander field is stunning, we are in love ♥! My sister lives in England and I cant wait to come back. This country has so much to offer!
Ответить"What was your favourite thing?".....Ian: "The carot cake..." 😂😂😂 Why did I expect him to answer this!?!?! 😂😂😂
ОтветитьOh yes, getting a piece of cake, some scones, and a lovely vintage book and retreat in the church yard for a relaxing reading session!!
Ответить
