The dumbest thing about Star Trek Discovery and the barn is the romulans don't use dylithium they use micro black holes as a warp system so either the romulans would have taken over the entire universe or someone would have stole that technology and just started using that that entire series did not make sense

It's been said many MANY times that STO is considered alpha cannon, not beta cannon.
Also you have got to be one of THE MONT ill tempered trek commentator I've ever heard. Getting angry and raising your voice over imagined slights.

Starfleet's ULTIMATE Exploration Ship- - Nope. If it was the Ultimate, it would have 4 nacelles to continually be at warp and not just 2 where you have to stop and cool off.

Neat ship, but the fastest ship will always be the Discovery. With the spore drive, any ship can travel any distance instantly and also instant travel in and out of different universes.

TNG Star Trek writers: we must remove the temptation to use higher and higher warp factors because it cheapens drama. Let's put a limit at 10.
Every subsequent Star Trek writer (most of whom worked on TNG as well): so we have warp 9 ships, warp 9.99 ships, warp 9.9999 ships, warp 9.999999999999999...

I love this design. I wouldn't mind being Captain of a ship like this. This ship actually looks like it would have a chance of taking on the Borg successfully. Also, if you were thrown into the far reaches of the galaxy with a very long trip home, it looks like it has the speed necessary to get you home within your lifetime as well as the comfort levels required to not go insane due to being closed in on a small ship.

I've been playing STO since May 2010 and my main's command is the USS Emilia, a Brigid Multi-Mission Surveillance Explorer :D
The Caelian is a new addition to the line of ships that was added to a Legendary pack a in STO a year or so ago! It's alright I guess, I like the Brigid's seating more though ;)

No way! I dont card what my fellow nerds say. I'll take the comfortable vesta class over the defiant any day. Enjoy your luxury space tank. I'll be sailing some nebula in style and comfort. Same thing in star wars. The Falcon is cool but I'll take the Naboo Royal ship. Better yet gimme an ISD. That bridge us huge. I could put a pool table and couches up there.

It appears that Star Fleet is totally stuck in a never ending cycle of starship deigns. I think it’s about time for the starship design team to start thinking outside the box and produce some totally new designs.

I always thought ppl who went back in time and created a paradox could potentially be shielded from and changes that occur due to them being outside of their timestream. Once they enter the between space or temporal tunnel or freeway if you will, they may somehow be outside of time itself and therefor be unaffected by any changes brought about by any temporal shenanigans.

In airless and weightless space,, why would would there ever be the need for streamlined 'aerodynamic' star ship? Starships should be gigantic the size of planets.

I still think that Starfleet should had used the original Slipstream tech and not the Borg enhanced Quantum Slipstream which negates the stress on the ship's forward hull. The Voyager was initially modified and successfully used the regular slipstream for several hours. 7of9 integrated certain transwarp principles to solve the forward stress to the ship's hull by creating a transwarp tunnelling effect in the quantum realm. Instead of reinforcing or redesigning the hull, she developed the quantum slipstream so that there's a forward wave generated by the main deflector far ahead of the ship so that there's no stress on the physical hull making the regular slipstream several times faster than the regular slipstream by Species116.

IMO, the correct deployment for the original slipstream tech is the Voyager-A(Vivace class from SFC3/BridgeCommander/Armada) which is before the novel introduction's of the Vesta/Aventine class. The Vivace class looked like the forward section of the Intrepid class had been expanded by 1/3 more and the main hull by 1/4 more for safely travelling in slipstream plus fixed the variable position nacelles.
Anyway don't forget to include the CoAxial Warp too since that didn't include an external modification to the ship's warp engines and maybe rebuild the ship's EPS system so that the Sikarian Trajector could also be used. IMO, the Sikarians are a remnant world of the T'Kon empire like Aldea and Outpost world. The quartz crystal used by the Sikarians for space folding are the similar large crystals seen on the T'Kon Outpost world.

The one thing that bugs me with star trek ship design are the warp engines.
At 2000+ ft in total length these ships have basically two cruse ships on tiny tiny support structures glued to a giant frisby...
That never felt right!
