any solution to remove pest snails?
ОтветитьI always knew it was possible that you could have any ecosystem.Without all the chemicals and b*******, the chemicals are to keep you suppressed and kill you and your genetics. And they don't care about animals as well, so mm, they don't care if they're killing the animals as well. So thank you for having this as a video I can use it for guidance in the future when I'm ready to do the same thing because you know I knew you could do it. There's just gotta be an ecosystem and mathematics of the ecosystem. I know how to do this with ponds. Without any filters, I just don't know how to do this in a tank, and I know there's a difference because ponds, the ecosystem can come to you.Where is a tank? You kinda have to build it. All I know is this is pretty dope
ОтветитьI really enjoyed your video , learned alot, i will be doing this set up with every aquarium, y i must say ,you have an amazing voice, i could listen to you for hours,
ОтветитьI watch this 1 year video, in 32 mints😊
ОтветитьWow, I never thought, you can go without water change or other chemicals....... thank you so much, ita helpful:)
Ответитьسبحان الله
ОтветитьI don’t know much about aquariums , aqua scaping or the set ups yet…
But , I am building a tropical plant business… & have messed around with forcing adaptations , like growing regular plants under water.
I have a growing professional knowledge in horticulture , so understand fertiliser management aswell as substrate & water/irrigation management.
& personally , ever issue you stated with the tank….. I’m my opinion is likely due to the fact you had worm castings in that substrate…. It’s a natural fertiliser , period.
Contains the exact same chemical compounds & makeup found in literally 98% of the market.
Look up what compounds are actually found within castings…. Primarily nitrogen, phosphorus etc etc…. All things you were finding inclined in your readings ! So I think it could be that realistically.
Put a tea spoon of worm castings in a cup , place some water in it & stir it up…. Let it sit for a second , then smell….. 😂
You’ll then realise , it’s the exact same smell you described also! 😂
Personally I’d suggest to research the PH scale of the casting source #1 , & #2 the PH of the plants.
Also , you could set up a sample tank , to actually test the substrate theory
i dont think thats gas imo. maybe airpockets trapped around the sand. YT a video called 'why beach holes are so dangerous' or 'deadly'. GOODLUCK & you gained me as another sub. I look forward to following your other videos here; very informative thx
ОтветитьSo relax video , i can relax after longday
Ответитьsub only for the voice.
ОтветитьYou may not be adding fertilizer but the fish and other life are most certainly fertilizing
ОтветитьCan you please have other AI Narrator options for your videos?
Ответитьno need for the story pal... just the smooth equirium building is enough
ОтветитьThank god for this video, I was so sad because I was looking into aquarium equipment and substrate prices, they are soooo expensive at least where I live
Now I’m really into it again, but I’m just very undecided about wether I use a filter or not, I think I will use one bc I’m quite emotional over my fish dying. (I had fish before, a Betta on a smaller aquarium, but I totally messed it up with the tap water and ended up killing it)
Aquarium size?
ОтветитьI never will get used to A.I. narrating, it sounds terrible to me, like "he" is telling a fairy tale. But the movie is awesome, very intereseting how nature works.
ОтветитьI would say that some of the gasses are partly due to the worn castings breaking down
ОтветитьThe plants in the aquarium need Fertilizers. Some grow faster than others, some get food from roots others from the water column. The problem is they compete with each other and some plants get no food if the nutrient level in the water column drops too low.
When under fed the plants will Sacrifice its old growth in order to feed its new growth. When this happens the older leaves will wilt the tissues will die and the algae will take hold of the dying tissues, Which is what you are witnessing on your plants.
Main point is if you want healthy algae free plants you WILL have to feed the plants, most effectively by adding fertz to the water and adding fertz to the soil as well.
When dosing keep the water between 10-15ppm nitrate levels. Modern fert formulas are high in potassium and will regulate it self with semi regular water changes. Overdosing is near impossible if you just regularly check the nitrate levels, if it gets to high dose less and/or do a water change. If you are keeping shrimp just make sure the fertilizer is copper free.
Are you the voice actor for the game Stanley Parable? 😂
ОтветитьFUCKING HATE THESE GOD DAMN AI VOICE BOTS!
ОтветитьWhat an Amazing video, I watched all of it
ОтветитьTaking foo the flowerhorns style. I see how it is. So many knock off videos. Just cause you added narration doesnt mean you did literally ANYTHING differently. You even used his same music smh
ОтветитьThanks buddy, great job.
ОтветитьCould the gas be CO2? I've heard compost will produce CO2 as it rots away. I'm incredibly new to fish keeping so this is purely a guess.
ОтветитьYour voice is hypnotic
ОтветитьThanks for sharing, it's chilling to watch and full of knowledge and experience to learn 👏
ОтветитьSir, I like your voice, it sounds very clear like the Natgeo narrator.. mix with Optimus prime 😁
Ответитьwhere did you get the light holder clips to suspend the light?
Ответитьmet des vrai poissons apres on en reparle....
ОтветитьWould boiling the water before putting it in the aquarium be of any benefit?
ОтветитьI decided to set up an aquarium and for a few days I have been reading and watching videos on YT wondering where to start and in which direction to go. I grew up by the sea, when I was a child we had a big aquarium at home and now in my old age I miss the water because I live in the center of the land. It reminded me of how in primary school before the holidays we would take a hamster or something from the biology lab to the house. Once they forgot about the aquarium. Everything was turned off for 3 months, no one fed the fish. After the holidays there was little water left in the aquarium because 3/4 evaporated. Plants, snails and fish survived! There weren't many of them, a few guppies like in a school aquarium. The water was crystal clear. I started looking for videos about low tech aquariums and found your channel. It caught my attention because I thought it was my neighbor because the name Walstad is very similar to my town. I watched this video and I am very impresed. I am waiting for more videos now. Good luck :)
ОтветитьYou have to refresh more often the water.
And during day time, turn the light off for three hours
One of the best things I ever did for my aquarium was stopping the nonsense of weekly water changes, other than when i had to move the tank once, I havent done any water changes in about 3 years, just small top-ups, water is crystal clear, it does have a built in filter compartment so there is water movement but i dont ever clean that out, maybe just rinse the sponge (in some rain water) every 4-6 months.
I think water changes are only worth it if you are really going for a competition worthy planted set up, if you are happy with a more naturalistic look and minimum maintenance, bin those water changes and additives 👌🏼
Great video 👍🏼
Nice aquarium mates, i do walstad too, but my cherry shrimp being invasive now
ОтветитьTitle sed no water change, but you do. Explain.
ОтветитьWhy do you sound like Venom?
ОтветитьU V sterilizer , kill algae cells
ОтветитьWhile the aquarioum itself looks nice and the effort is commendable, the whole thing still feels off. From the fact you do not offer even simplest advice despite calling the channel Walstad method - such as how thick the gravel layer needs to be over soil in order for it not to permiate into the watewr column with time - there are still more issues ranging from simply somewhat grading (such as using the epic Attenborough-esque AI voice over together with relatively poor quality script), to downright suspicious with your use of Erik Satie as your musical background seemingly as an attempt to grab audience from Foo The Flowerhorn channel.
ОтветитьPleco better than cory which can eat shrimp fry. Pleco can help algae
Ответитьthis voice is very comforting and a great instramental carefully explaing.. i do appreciate ❤🎉
ОтветитьGood voice. Have you thought of doing a Wind-in-the-Willows audio book? 😀
ОтветитьI have done this and my water was crystal clear! My question though is how do you add water safely? I add some when it evaporates. All fish lived but it was my guppies who died. Are guppies that sensitive to changes?
ОтветитьI showed the transition from water changes as required in the Walstad Method to
NO WATER CHANGES
Gradually the aquarium went from the Walstad Method to a Low Tech Aquarium.
I use ONLY A LIGHT !!! No filter, no pumps, no ,,,,
I have several videos where I explained in detail the problems, solutions and transformations !!!
