For my fellow n00bs that are intimidated by any frosting that isn’t American buttercream, try Russian buttercream. Seriously. Condensed milk, butter, and vanilla. That’s all you need, and it is….soooooooooooo delicious.

ОтветитьThe end product reminds me of spongecake both texture and taste wise, it's amazing.
I was a little sceptical about the amount of sugar, but it's not too sweet, it's as a sweet as it should be.
I also love how the top is a little crispy.

1/2 cup room temp butter
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs room temp
2 tbsp vanilla extract
3 cups cake flour
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/3 cup buttermilk
350 Fahrenheit, preheated oven 20-30 minutes
Translating this to non-american(?) measurements:
115 gramm butter
125 ml oil
250 gramm sugar
4 eggs
2 tbsp vanilla extract
360 gramm cake flour
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
315 ml buttermilk
Preheated oven, 175 Celsius
Tips:
- If you don't have buttermilk, you can replace it with the same amount of Kefir or you can combine either Sour Cream and milk, or Yogurt and milk (I went with 200 ml Yogurt and 115 ml milk)
- You can use vanilla sugar instead of extract, just combine it with the dry ingredients, I used 16 gramm
- 2 tsp baking powder is enough
- Try to make sure the salt is mixed equally
- If you don't have cake flour wheat flour works well
