Graphite shafts rule
ОтветитьGreat video! I’m putting Recoils in my Mizuno 221’s this week
ОтветитьAll of these graphite shafts used in the irons and wedges are lightweight senior flex. Graphite shafts are available in every stiffness flex as well as heavier options comparable to steel
ОтветитьI prefer graphite irons. I can feel them load power more obviously.
ОтветитьI play Graphite G410’s, why don’t you use Graphite full time yourself…..?
ОтветитьHe put on a lot of weight in 3 Years since this was filmed
ОтветитьThank you Rick, I was thinking of buying graphite clubs since i am a little older now. Still not sure, thank you for the insight.
ОтветитьThe first shit is a Mulligan...No shame mate...Got a measure up and fit next week but I'm going to try couple to see what tripe they come out with.
ОтветитьEven Rick takes a mulligan 😂😂 I don't feel bad anymore
ОтветитьI hit my Graphite irons to the left. I need to slow my swing a little.
ОтветитьGreat review Rick you’ve made my mind up on my new set. 😊
ОтветитьI’m in the market for new clubs, getting back in the game after 12 odd years. I’ve been looking at graphite. I wonder if they’d be better or worse for a high handicapper?
Ответитьi love the whippyness of graphite, for short range chipping and pitching i prefer my steel wedge
ОтветитьRecently found a 3 and 4 iron with graphite shafts in the trash after someone quit golf at the local course (lol) so I added them to my bag since I didn't own a 3 or 4 iron. Gotta say, the weight difference and smoothness hitting the ball are seriously noticeable. I'm way too cheap to buy new irons with new graphite shafts, but if you come across cheap used ones, you have to try it. It's really far superior to steel shafts in my experience so far.
ОтветитьI tried to switch from graphite to steel. Big mistake. Threw off my entire game…too many “golf bros” give graphite a bad stigma but I guess there’s a reason Bryson uses graphite
ОтветитьI always blame the LOFT when i shoot bad. Lack Of F***ing Talent. L.O.F.T lol
ОтветитьPicked up a graphite set of honma irons and they are fantastic and only cost about $400, worth it.
ОтветитьWhy the hell is Rick using senior flex shafts?!? Terrible test
Ответитьu ever play a steel shafted driver? i built one for a buddy and he likes the fuck out of it. using a steel wood shaft and an adapter.
Ответитьi like to feel the head during the swing, i use graphite. i tried steel but i really like the graphite, i play a 70g from Ust. and it is a great shaft.
ОтветитьIn addition to the other comments that were made, it would appear that the ball had more backspin when struck with the graphite 7 iron on full shots.
ОтветитьRick needs to keep those
ОтветитьI love how the weight is distributed, and the control I get as a result.
ОтветитьJust had graphite put on all my irons. Love the look and feel so far but have yet to play a round with them. Hopefully tomorrow 😊
ОтветитьRegular steel vs Stiff graphite shafts. Is their stiffness pretty much the same? I'm a newbie to the sport, just a little over two months. With regards to shafts, I currently have irons with Steel Regular flex shafts. Although the label on the shafts say S FLEX so not sure if I'm really swinging a Regular flex. But anyway, I'm thinking of changing to lighter Graphite shafts because of my slow swing speed and a bit of hand & shoulder pain, but I'm not sure what Flex would suit me better - Regular or Stiff? I'm thinking since graphite is a softer shaft already than steel, maybe Regular would be too soft or whippy so I'm leaning towards Stiff for a graphite shaft. I do have Stiff shafts for my driver & 3wood which I'm fine with. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
ОтветитьJust bought graphite shaft irons very excited to use them
ОтветитьAll my clubs are graphite apart from my putter
ОтветитьI am a weekend player. I use the club shaft, by holding it up facing my "target"
to sight in my target line. Many times, during the round I get glare from the sun from the shaft. Graphite would stop this annoying occurrence.
the graphite shafts should be alot more forgiving on mishits than the steel shafts.
ОтветитьRick did you finally decide on a set of iron 2022 I must have missed that video & stay with them for a couple of video
ОтветитьRick, thx for this. I’m waiting on a set of TM M2 graphite irons. At 64, my experience is they are much easier and lighter to carry
Expect deliver on July 8th. I’ll report my feelings after a field test
I’ve recently acquired a set of irons with graphite shafts and reshafted some wedges with graphite. In early season, they felt great, especially when a bit cold outside...even scored really well. However, as time went on and weather warmed, my distances started to suffer and I started cutting across the ball often. It turns out, the lighter graphite shafts started influencing me to cast the club, especially as the season revved up and my speed was up to norm. I switched back to my other irons with heavier steel shafts and, once I identified the casting, was able to gain control of my game again. Now that I am aware of the issue, I feel like I could switch back to the graphite set and swing accordingly, with an attention to tempo and later release. Just something to be aware of for those considering the switch to graphite. They feel great, but minor swing/timing adjustments may need to be made if you are used to steel shafts.
ОтветитьAs a 27 year old 8 handicap I finally got fitted for a set of irons a couple weeks ago and I’ll say trying the graphite shafts was the best thing for my game. Not only did I gain a lot of performance for my game, I did so while being able to do so with a smoother swing lighter swing. Truly glad I went in with a open and willing mind to try something out of my norm.
ОтветитьOne thing I have noticed between the two is that, when you hit a graphite wrong you feel it sting in your hands a little more
ОтветитьIf tongue, kick, and weight are similar between graphite and steel, then you wouldn't experience much of a difference really.
ОтветитьMaybe consider getting graphite shafts? You were smoking them!!
ОтветитьDoes golf bidder ship to the us
Ответитьyou should review the 2022 cobra forged Tech irons
Ответитьgraphites from a feel perspective feel more like youre swinging a hammer, the weight is all at the end, honestly i kinda like the feel
ОтветитьI never going back to steel irons. Im 46yo, playing on current 8 hcp. Love the lighter feel with the graphite, the sound is amazing!
ОтветитьI just got rid of my graphite shafted irons. Perhaps they had too much flex, but I found them to be very inconsistent on where the club head was actually at when I was striking the ball. This was most noticeable with the lower irons. I've gone back to steel shafts and like them a lot more. Personally, I'm willing to sacrifice a little club head speed for more consistent striking.
ОтветитьI switched from steel shafted irons to graphite shafted irons years ago. To be honest, I didn't see a tremendous difference between the two, other than hitting my shots a little higher with the graphite. Feel wise, I prefer the graphite because it seems like more weight is felt in the head, and thereby more energy is moved from my hands to the club head. Whether that is true or not, I don't know.
Ответитьam i the only one that thought he said the f word on his first wedge shot?😂
ОтветитьCost is really the only drawback.
ОтветитьNot a single person out on the course other than Rick. Early morning dew on the grass at the beginning, leaving footsteps. Alone, just you, and the game. The best way to play.
ОтветитьGreat video. I’ve been wondering about these for a while.
Ответитьhe tells it to go in. 🚶♀️
ОтветитьRick, you truly are a good player! I saw S and SR flexes in your bag, but you handled both with aplomb. Interesting video.
