Blue Origin left capacity is 50 tone and Falcon Heavy iis over 60 ton. That's a 20% difference. Origin thrust is 550K tons. Falcon Heavy exceeds 5 million. That's a difference of 1000%. Blue is so far behind SpaceX at the moment in proven flights, reusabilty and manufacturing pace I cannot imagine they'll ever be able to catch up. But still a better option for the industry than Boeing was ever going to be with their soon-t-be bankrupt company management and structure.

How can you say a rocket that generates 3.8 million pounds of thrust is a competitor to Super Heavy that generates 16 million pounds of thrust? Also, Blue Payload to LOE is 45 metric tons, Super Heavy 63.8 metric tons?

All this talk about putting SpaceX in its place… Sounds a lot like what Boeing was saying before they flew their first flight (not yet)! So after the first flight let's see if it even gets off the ground!

This company has an analysis paralysis and zero launches. They go out and declare with such authority in the business like they have been launching rockets since early 2000's. They havent reached space so whats the deal? First step. Successfully get to orbit, and then explore options. 😂

Blue Origin will probably steal payloads from ULA and ESA. With the larger fairing size they may take on some of F9 payloads but when starship is fully operational its going to dominate for awhile.

I think many people treat it as a joke at the moment, but I think it is still way ahead of Boeing etc. and the old industry. If SpaceX would not perform so incredible, I think many people (normal) people would be more exited. Personally, I think we definitely need at least 2, preferably more big companies in the new emerging market. At least a duopoly like with Boeing and Airbus, preferably 10 serious providers that will become viable alternatives to each other to fight monopoly. Otherwise, we see with Boeing, Apple or Disney what happens if companies lose their legacy and spirit, and their main objective becomes for corporate to kick the can down the road somehow, and to block, or buy the competition. That would not be good if there is one provider with 90% market share.

Why is new glenn heralded as so good when they haven't done anything, much less repeatably with skill. It's like listening to russians or the ccp. I would not provide them anything for plans, from work too hardware to test, until they can do all of the base steps, reliably, repeatedly. They can't get off the ground and they get plans for Mars bs?!? Mars is a stupid tax on humanity. Seriously, I want all the worthless efforts and finances wasted on that poisonous ball of worthlessness. Elon is using those ideas of mars to over-drive us here around earth and to put up Oneil cylinders, you idiots. Dyson spheres are the game, and gravity wells are for suckers. Oh, and as for climate warming? A few well-sized multi-kilo reflectors in Earth Legrange orbits will fix that. It's not hard, easier than landing on the moon in the past in comparison. You know what else those reflectors can do? Yeah... capture sunlight for close habitats in the same area. Infact, those habitats can be the center of the large shields. And they will be thinner than aluminum foil. And where do we get and refine aluminum? Yeah... the moon. So many liars and learned helplessness out there, people, grow up.

WOW!!! This must have be the pitch that they gave NASA give them so much money at first.
Blue Origin has nowhere near the ability that SpaceX has now but, I do feel that there should always be a backup. Or in a sense, another that is trying to achieve the same goal. We can't have one in the U.S. that monopolizes the space industry.

IF not Bozo can SUE SpaceX for being better and faster than they are. How much award money $$ can you get for having your feelings hurt ?

To clarify all this stirr about New Glenn... The BE-4 engines are what prevent New Glenn from competing with the likes of Starship. It has a small engine count for the size. A single Blue Engine 4 can do 250ton/force of thrust (550,000lbf or 2.4MN), which is quite impressive. For comparison Raptor 3 does 280tf (617,000lbf or 2.7MN) at least, with upgraded version planned to achieve 330tf (727,000lbf or 3.2MN). Consider the fact that Starship 1 and 2 utilizes 33 Raptor 2's with Starship 3 upgrading this number to 35 Raptor 3's, while New Glenn settling for only 7 BE-4's. New Glenn is an orbital launch vehicle at best, and won't ever do interplanetary missions like Starship or Nova.

I'll bet anybody here in the comments as much money as they are comfortable losing that Starship will not only never land on the moon or mars, but it will never carry humans...

SpaceX couldn't even human-rate their falcon heavy.

Some of us are old enough to remember "Red Dragon".

Musk is a charlatan with a lot of orbital pony tricks.

If new glenn is successful, then they will convert it into new glenn heavy, exactly what space x has done by converting falcon 9 into falcon heavy. This might be a slight competition to starship
Only IF new glenn is successful, or else, its just a blueprint in a trash can

You've got to be kidding. New Glen is the most significant space event of the year. Not hardly. Starship flights are far more significant and will blow New Glen out of the water. By the time New Glen is useful, it will already be obsolete because it's not fully and rapidly reusable like Starship. They won't be able to compete on cost. BO will likely only book government contracts that need a second source. It's too little, too late. They should have had New Glen to compete with Falcon 9 and heavy. Now it's too late.
