There are no words that describe the feeling you get when you go from someone who's just hitting buttons to someone who's learning combos and can consistently get their inputs in. It's really just a magical feeling.

the first time i played online i got assinged to 6F and had to fight a lvl 60 player when i wasn't that good

also i had accidentally binded the left button to something else so i couldn't distance myself from the enemy

I think training mode is great for getting familiar with your character, but after that, what’s worked best for me is just playing and watching other people to see what they do with the character I play

Its a little ridiculous to complain about loading times when rivals is literally 16bit and guilty is in 3D with way more detailed characters and stages.

In about 9 hours of gameplay I got to 8F. I played some 10Fs and Jesus Christ, I got my ass beat. I just got the game so I know I'll get there in a month or so.

I spent hours upon hours upon hours learning and playing this game and I still SUUUUCK but for anyone who wants to know how to learn- watching pro players play certain characters/watching guides will show you what is optimal and practical- just because a combo does alot of damage doesn't mean you will ever be in a position to actually use it or get it consistently, much less remember the damn thing.

This popped up on my queue for some reason... so I gotta ask: did learning GG seem like fun to you?
Was this game accessible?

Reason I ask is: Strive in particular was built around the idea of introducing GG to new players, so if it did its job, I guess that's okay.
But a lot of veterans don't like it for that reason.

Fighting games rely a LOT on "legacy experience".
And if you play platform fighters I'm sure you would understand that if a person that knows placement, spacing and etc will win over a person with perfect input for combos but no knowledge of the rest.

This is why the practice mode is good....for input practice. But for actually learning how to play, the best is to play against people or hell, even doing arcade mode.

I love you so much. Skullgirls, Lethal League Blaze and Guilty Gear Strive are some of my favourite games and I'm so glad you're looking into Skullgirls and LLB, because both of them are fun as hell! I know this is a pretty old video but if you haven't, learn some big band music combos in skullgirls cause they're funny as fuck.

Damn, floor 8 in 24 hours. That's impressive, to me at least. I've got 64 hours in the game, and the highest I've made it is floor 7, but I mostly hover around floor 6.

I recently picked up strive and gotta say, you improved a lot faster then i did 😅.

as someone who just picked up strive a couple months ago it feels nice to watch someone play it their first time, even if this was about a year before I found the game. You learn so much from just a single game, now I understand fighting game notations, am pretty consistent at every input in the game, main Johnny and Sin, already have about 300 hours in the game, and most of all... nonexistent fingers
hopefully other people will learn to enjoy the game as much as me 👍
