'Toasty' is how I first describe that dial.
ОтветитьIf all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail 😄
ОтветитьI agree with the no markings thing. Kinda like the finish trade guys, leave it like you found or better, its not yours.
ОтветитьThat dial just screams " I've got stories" love the patina
ОтветитьYou're not a true hobbyist until you get yourself a laser welder!
Love your stuff
I have been mystified by mechanical watches and stumbled upon your channel. I had the video on mute as it was just beautiful to watch you work. I turned on the volume at some point and instantly recognised your voice from mtg coverage (another hobby which takes my dollars). I was utterly delighted to see another passion of yours and also see the playmat on your work bench! Thanks for brightening up my day and look forward to watching more of your videos. 😀
ОтветитьI'm curious, I've watched a number of your video's, apparently you must have some education, or how else can you exactly know where what screw needs to be, they are all tiny, and what about the thread some of them have, it is certainly not trial-and-error for such fragile parts. You do this with love as we all see, but I as many love to see how delicately you put the watches in ship-shape condition back to working order. Brilliant!❤🙂
ОтветитьYou know, Marshall, every time you do that “ main spring click” bit I think I enjoy it so much because you get such a thrill out of it. With all the devastation currently throughout the world, (10-15-23), it is refreshing to be able to get pleasure from such a small wholesome event. Love sharing your hobby and watching from PA.
ОтветитьThe more a dial looks like the ass of an opossum with diarrhea the more you like it.
ОтветитьI know many will disagree with me but that dial... ABSOLUTELY NOT....
Otherwise love the watch
I had a watch with the bumper but I can't remember what it was for the life of me. I'm sure if it was an Omega I would have kept it, but from what I remember it looked exactly like that one... All I know is I bought it on eBay, and I'm sure it was pretty cheap, probably "parts or repair" status. But I ended up feeling like it was a little too much for me to take on at the level I was at, so it's gone now. That was something else I would do pretty often, buy out lots for cheap that have something in there that might be special, then pick through and sell things individually to make a little cash and help fund the insanely expensive hobby! haha
ОтветитьI don’t know. I’ll just say we all have our own preferences and leave it at that.
ОтветитьBrilliant Again!
Ответить"Look at the size of that screw!"
"What acrew?"
❤
Patina my ass
ОтветитьLove this channel! Can someone tell me what the paper is that Marshall uses to dry off jewels after the One Dip? Also, if you are looking for parts I cannot recommend Cas-Ker enough. They don't put a fraction of what they have on their website, but they are my go-to for any mechanical movement parts.
ОтветитьIt might look cool if you clean and polish the metal hour markers on the dial, but left the rest of the dial totally patinaed!
ОтветитьIt should be a crime to leave the outside face of that watch looking so terrible while the inside of that watch look so clean and perfect
ОтветитьLove your content mate. Great work!. A while ago I sold a gruen and regretted it, so I decided to buy a Vintage refurbished Omega. It's exactly the same as this, same face except its not a seamaster and it's manual wind. It has a similar patina to yours in the video, with a few light scratches.. but it does not in anyway bother me.
