I got the current gen of the Mech 17 gp2 and the one suuuuper disappointing thing is that the liquid cooling heat pipe only runs over the gpu. Cpu gets no benefit other than overall system heat being reduced

mine laptop is on mouse pad beacause i game and i put it right beside my monitor in the corner. there are walls on the left side and on the back but i wanted to buy those cooling pads but i changed my min beacause i just moved my laptop so my back fans are not on the mouse pad. its little bit of the table but HEY it works and its cool

does the cooler have to use software? can you put this on another laptop if you soldered fittings to fit the cooler?

If there were longer water hoses available I could totally see this being someone’s main laptop desktop combo where it could serve as a normal portable laptop when not home but when they get home quick connect and have a decent desktop,, kind of

I have a Mech 15 G3 from 2021. I'm having an issue that anything that I connect to the Thunderbolt 4 USB-C on the back, it randomly disconnects and connects, at random intervals. So far, I have connected and external SSD and a TB4 dock, while using most of its USBs already and always keeping my laptop charged. Am I doing something wrong? Is it a defect? Any answers I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I don't care about the fan noise, i wear headphones while gaming anyway just give me the raw power and performance, maybe Eluktronics can have two variants, one silent and the other one outright pure performance.

I think to "problem", if there is one, is that the cold water runs over the cpu, but returns to the cooler with the hot water over the same space, somewhat negating the flow of cold into the laptop. Don't get me wrong, it seems to work fine, but it is what it is in a VERY confined space. I think Eluktronics did a great job overall.

I'd be very interested in seeing this concept in the upcoming Labs when it's up an running. A water-cooled breakout box like this vs an eGPU vs a laptop cooling stand vs undervolt/overclock type of test. (Not all together, obvs). I'm SO excited for the LTT Labs! SOOO much potential. I'm still wondering if they will be gaining a certification, though probably not, as it would involve way more than they can accomplish being a "small" lab. Who knows. But I'm still stoked!!

Does Eluk/XMG G3R Air cooling performance par with legion 5 pro with same specs? if we exclude liquid cooler and only consider max performance on max air speed?

I gotta say this looks awesome, price isn't that bad for those who like to game on a laptop after being stuck in an office all day at work. Those temp drops were huge. Sounds like they just need to have a max fill line, toughen up the cap, make sure the fan isn't broken and can be controlled.

I think maybe you shouldn't have messed with the cooler and it probably wouldnt have broke, also that wasnt even that loud, or at least it didnt justify throwing a tantrum over it

Theres great potenzial here, laptops come with alot of power today but they are limited by thermals and the resulting noise levels.
I might do a DIY- job on my laptop with a few design changes: Bigger radiator and fan, quiet aquarium pump, a clear reservoir, a connector that doesnt let the water leak out when unplugged. I dont really need speed control if the whole system is quit enough, when its not needed I just turn it off.
