like '123%' and like '%123' are two different things one will fetch records wher users I'd starts with 123 and other when ends with 123, then where is optimization used?

Can you also publish advance query tuning techniques with large volume of data, where even after applying these methods the SQL is still slow...

I think limit is considered at the end of query execution only after scanning and retrieving all data is complete, so I don't think using limit will improve performance... Let me know your thoughts..
