I have a luxury watch collection of 11 watch but if you are on a tight budget you can't go wrong with Timex or Casio. Sorry but Daniel Wellington is way over priced and this is being written by a man that owns 2 Rolex's which are not the most expensive watches in the collection.
ОтветитьFor anyone who is taking advice all these years later, don't listen to most of the stuff in this video.
1. Buy what you like
2. Rubber straps go with everything, even suits and are more sweat resistant
3. Metal bands of all types look fine with any clothing you wear
4. Try matching the leather strap to your belt and shoes
5. Only snobs and enthusiasts are looking at your watch
One word: Casio
ОтветитьDo a remake with nathan!
ОтветитьDaniel Wellington?! I almost hope they paid him to recommend them lol.
ОтветитьThe point about cheap metal bracelets, followed by a picture of an IWC pilot watch, and a big red “X” really seemed inappropriate. Their pilot watches have some of the best metal bracelets available, and are a huge selling point for many models.
ОтветитьAs the Gentleman’s Gazette has argued in countless other videos, it is important to take into consideration the price per wear. I have tried to go to many jewellers to repair my father’s Timex Marlin and not even Timex themselves will accept them for servicing. It is more cost efficient to save up and purchase a proper watch from a reputable brand, as this will last a lifetime.
ОтветитьYou are recommending a Daniel Wellington fashion watch? 😭😭😭😭
ОтветитьThis guy has no idea what he is talking about, excellent comedy video
ОтветитьOr I suppose you could inherit a watch, as I have my Great Grandfather’s silver pocket watch from the 1920s.
Ответитьseiko - good
timex - good
stuhrling - okay
dw - NO NO NO NO NO
Daniel Wellington!! What a fraud
ОтветитьI love your video but I completely disagree with most or your statements.
DW is a cheap chinese movement inside a cheap case.
Idk Sir, I disagree with the Metallwrist one here with you. I even got cheaper ones and mostly no malfunction. But also for me the Steel wristband is a symbol for the working class Gentleman. You don't buy watches often but those you bought had to last for decades.
ОтветитьThere’s nothing worse than a man with a cheap watch. Go buy a good watch instead of spending 60 bucks on a pair of socks
ОтветитьI don't know much about watches under 100 bucks, but if you have about 300 to 400 bucks to spare, I can highly recommend the Seiko Presage range of watches!
Orient and Edox are great value as well.
Any advice for a pocket watch? I wanted to get a Q&Q, but idk.
ОтветитьAt $100 I would be looking at some of the quartz Wenger. Swiss made and owned by parent company Victorinox.
ОтветитьI'll stick with my Timex Indiglo thank you. Reasonably cheap, reliable and if I do happen to loose it no big deal. Or my Pulsar Railroad Approved.
ОтветитьIf you're that strapped (pardon the pun) for cash, look at used, quality watches. Tissot, Citizen Eco-drive, Seiko, and the like can easily be had for that price range, even with genuine mechanical automatic movements, and they have so much more class than some cheap knockoff watch from Amazon. Do not buy some garbage Stuhrling. They use cheap Chinese movements, like Seagull and such. Not worth your time.
ОтветитьExactly opposite. Most watches in 500 - 1500 price range are great value for money. Look at oris big crown pro pilot or lower end Hamilton Khacki field.
ОтветитьSven was right i found some pocket watches for under 2dollars
ОтветитьSometimes i feel, this guy research for an hour or two and just turn the camera on!
ОтветитьWhen he start talking bout DW... 😶
ОтветитьCall me a novice but I like Fossil.
ОтветитьThe father of these cleanly designed watches is Daniel Wellington. Father in this case means cheaply made Ali express obvious bauhaus ripoff junk. If you pay more than $10 for a DW, you've been ripped off.
ОтветитьWell late to this party but should it be revisited I feel personally this was a bit of a mixed bag, Vintage is rarely a good idea at this price range unless you are willing to work on the watch yourself as a service on a mechanical piece (which tbh is what most Vintage buys are) can often pass this budget if you pay a watchmaker to do it, I'd also say don't be that fazed by Bands/straps/bracelets as these can be easiley swapped and can make one watch a do all rather than having a need for several different ones for different occasions.
Bracelets aren't all bad at this point either, you probably won't escape hollow end links but it doesn't always mean it'll be a hair nipping jingle jangling mess.
But like I'm said I'm late anyway but maybe involve one of the watch channels as a collab instead if you revisit and then you can;t go wrong.
Duuuuudeeeee why why why Daniel Wellington!!
ОтветитьOk as an omega fanboy i feel sad watching this lol
ОтветитьIf one shops around one can find a Citizen or Seiko for around $120-$175. I just purchased a Citizen eco drive chronograph for $135. Quite happy with it.
ОтветитьThe father of simplicity is NOT DW.
DW is the father of Cheap chinese watches sold at a premium.
Timex, Casio, Orient, Seiko are the fathers of simple yet elegant watches
Daniel Wellington, Vinzero, MVMT, filippo loretti, and fashion watch brands are cheap chinese 10-30 usd watches with a 100-200x mark up.
Instead of DW or any fashion brand, check casio minimalist watches.
For 100-200 usd you got the Timex bambinos, inexpensive automatic watches which are even bettwr
Gotham is overpriced, between $100-$300. And some of them have plastic components in mechanical watches. Which is a huge deal breaker for me.
ОтветитьNormally these videos are great, but I don't understand his comment against metal bands. They last far longer for me than the alternatives mentioned - I will never buy a leather band watch again as they last only a couple of years. My metal band is 7 years running.
ОтветитьAs soon as he mentioned DW I understood that this video was a mistake.
ОтветитьI wear my mechanical (chronometre) Romeo pocket watch from the nineteen-thirties, attached to my waistcoat with a chain on my three-piece suit. How old am I? -Soon turning fifteen years old.
ОтветитьSven,
Ever do a mechanical pocket watch guide?
I think pocket watches are a classic, timeless and historical.
Those Elgin or Railroad Watches are nice.
Daniel wellington😂😂😂😂
Ответитьonly buy from them +387 64 45 19 386 Whats App if you dont want to get scammed
ОтветитьGo but 1950s bulova watches on line. They are nice goldfield and a conversation piece
ОтветитьCant you please do a video about pocket watches?
ОтветитьI’m 14 and even I find this interesting
ОтветитьDW are chinese made rubbish and you can buy the identical watch off Alibaba...reputedly from the same factory.
Go with the mainstay brands of seiko, casio, citizen, timex, orient...can't go wrong.
You are destroying your credibility by advocating for DW. Why would you do that?
Ответитьbest watch under $100? No such thing. Best Swiss movement mechanical watch under $500. That is an entry level good watch. A Gentlemen's watch. The problem with the Japanese is that they keep working to steal the European - Swiss watch market. Why don't they make their own market. There are 2 or 3 billion Asians, can't can't Japan be the Swiss watch for Asia?
