I’m amazed people even many Christians I know haven’t picked up levels of political and historical understanding when looking through these texts. I appreciate you bringing up many points about context of the time period as well as philosophical points. It’s everything I wished my school taught but no that seems too religious of them I guess.

Deuteronomy 21:10-14, Moses specifically stated what was to be done with female captives: "When you go out to war...and you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and desire her and would take her for your wife, then you shall bring her home to your house, and she shall shave her head and trim her nails. She shall put off the clothes of her captivity, remain in your house, and mourn her father and her mother a full month; after that you may go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife." This videos tips for reading this law doesn't do it for me... No one can convince me that this is okay. No one can tell me that this is God's Law. My heart knows that the true loving God of creation would never make such a law. This among other Moses/"Gods' orders is probably why European catholics and christians raped and murdered all of the indigenous Celtics, why the English French and Spanish in return went on to murder and rape all of the indigenous people of the Americas, Africa, Australia, etc... It is laws like this that lead me to believe that the Devil is so good at deception that the Devil itself is the writer and God of the Bible. God is Love.

Salam, Peace be upon all of you, and may God bless you and your work, you bring people towards light, keep it up may you be prosperous. Your translation of the word Shema gave me a hint about a verse in the Holy Quran chapter 24 sentence 15,

"All that the believers say, when they are called to God and His Messenger, that he may judge between them, is that they say, 'We hear, and we obey'; those -- they are the prosperers."

I get it like it is a response to God's commandments or laws through God's appointee (at that current time which is Mose peace be upon him). Sort of like the same message from the same God through the same Holy men, Prophets, and Messiahs. I mean like every time, God told us how to be saved from God's wrath which is to follow God's appointee at that current time willingly and wholeheartedly like ' we hear and we obey' like Shema's translation following the commandments or laws of God. God wants us to be like the 'we hear and we obey' person.
