The coolest robot I've ever built!

Though the technological innovation and creativity displayed in the making of this robot is astounding on its own, I feel what also deserves credit is the animatronics, the way it opens its eyes and scans the room before looking up at its creator, a look in its eyes not unlike that of a companion animal gazing at their owner or an infant observing their parent, there’s so much emotion behind that plastic and metal, it’s truly astounding

C3PO was janky and had noisy servos. This is working. And you're 100% Alexa is holding this back. The Home Assistant folks have been doing a lot with voice control this year. There might be something cool & open source to tap into there.

I am not sure how you would do that... without building the software first.
In any case... the idea of the camera detector to face recognition is very nice. It can be applied and activate the cyborg when it recognizes the user but it implies it will be always active.

The only thing that puzzles me is that if I ask my Alexa exactly the same things as you did in the video, either she replies something completely different or she says she doesn't know. How did you you get the robot to give those responses to your questions?

I respect and admire what you are doing... BUT... I'm an electrical engineer myself and am afraid of the ethical concerns raised by robots, AI and that these technologies may someday subjugate man. Any development and pushing of technology without an equally concerted effort about locking this technology down and ENSURING its safe use is dangerous and irresponsible. Are we really better off with what turned out to be the careless application of nuclear weapons? Our "doomsday clock" is stuck within minutes of the world being destroyed by dreamers who did nothing to ensure the safety of humanity. Just a thought that I hope all of us "techies" are aware of before we roll out the latest "cool" technology.

This is incredible I have never really thought of getting any Alexa device because meh but when I was served food by a talking robot at a restaurant I couldn’t shut up about how neat it was. I’ve also seen how interactive AI is so like you said combining AI with an interactive robot in your own home I feel like it would be like when a kid has an imaginary friend.
