Temple of the Dog was a side project. If you want more Chris, please see "Jesus Christ pose" by Soundgarden; he starts high and goes high throughout the song, they don't take prisoners. Also drop D tuning;)

You’re such a hot nerd. I love it ❤ If you like Chris Cornell you should hear Sebastian Bach from Skid Row sing Youth Gone Wild.

Interestingly enough, I think "exhaustion" is the emotion Cris is trying to convey. And "steady" the emotion Eddie is trying to convey. A hunger strike is an exhausting display of dedication towards a cause that requires steady intensity.

I LOOOVE her facial expressions and the look of pleasure on her face and in her hands when she gets really keyed up at parts. She's so animated!

Thanks for your analysis on two of the greatest! I’m still singing in my 60’s, try a great singer from the the 80’s arena rock band Triumph- The great Rik Emmitt

The fact you paused and went back so many times on just the song intro, followed by blah blah blah blah blah makes this unwatchable.

A band that I would love to see you react and breakdown is Blink-182. They have two singers, Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus. They both have very distinct voices. Tom's is... something else. Their vocal styles are best displayed in I Miss You, where they trade off verses.

It's funny how when a certain genre of music becomes popular even the best of the singers and the worst start to sound alike...
I always thought that was Eddie vedder singing the beginning and only Chris in the higher parts...

The greatest whoever did it in my humble opinion.

The origin story is more interesting than what you tell it. Andy Wood from MotherloveBone had recently died from OD. The Seattle jam scene lead to MLB and Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell to work on material together. MLB we’re auditioning singers at the time. Eddie Vedder was a front runner and in Temple of the dog we see Cornell give Vedder his first professional recording in Hunger Strike. The documentary PJ20

Okay so you mentioned a couple times that their voices work beautifully together and that's very true but you want to hear two voices that harmonize perfectly? Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley.

The original Alice in chains. Just listen to some of their music and when Jerry and Layne harmonize I'm telling you it is one of the most beautiful sounds you will ever hear.

Let me give you a history lesson. This song was on the Temple of the dog album that was dedicated to Andrew Wood who was the singer for another Seattle band called mother Love Bone.
The entire album was dedicated to that man. This was the very first music video Eddie vedder was ever in. Pearl jam didn't exist yet.
Pearl jam formed immediately after Temple of the dog was released.
It's my opinion that the first three Pearl jam albums are nothing but Platinum just perfection. You can see the progression as well.
This takes me back. Jesus Christ I'm 44 years old 25 years in the military. Seven tours of duty later. Later to Ex-Wives a heinous fucking drug addiction that I beat.

The song is so nostalgic for me it just takes me back to a time before the world was so fucked up. Some of you will understand what I mean some of you won't. I'm telling you now the 90s that was the absolute greatest decade of music ever and for those of us that were blessed to live through it.. I can't even begin to explain to you what that was like.
