as a veteran on the west coast i am deeply disturbed at how the local population openly despises the military and police. i keep a set of plates for everyone in my immediate family. but its getting too expensive to keep purchasing them.

We need an American made version of miguel caballero! Possibly at human price point. Lol
Thanks for your content!

I am really taking a liking to this dude and his content. As a former soldier, I wrongly thought all SEALs were arrogant bastards, but Chad seems really down to earth and comes across as a fine fellow. The takes on our "government's excesses is so on target it makes all the sense in the world. More please!

One is now officially red flagged in California for owning body armor !
Other states probably have the same 'warning' to Law Enforcement, just not yet officially.

You can make better, thicker plates with welders mat and fiberglass resin. Costs about 60 bucks.

Love your content as an ex-bro in arms. I agree full kit on the range and LARP as you train, however learn to move unseen. Be the dork, not a cool kid... In the civ world, cool kids are bullet magnets. Anyone or organization who doesn't want a civillian to have body armor is an enemy of the safety and rights of the people. It means that entity wants you to be at a disadvantage to them and criminals. I don't see always running full kit, because in an urban situation, that makes you a "shoot here" target. I run slick level X, with slap on placards for mission set. I can cover slick with a dirty sweatshirt and rock a shitty civ backpack and blend in. "That's not the trained asset we're looking for... just some dude in sneakers and jeans and a T... .. wait... look at that dude in full kit... put him down!" My kit to kit-up is in my shitty civ backpack. If I'm going to live to Militia-up, I have to look stooopid, until I'm back in the coven. Got two horizontal ice picks behind the slick plates... when it gets to CQB.😊🎉 Party on!

What if you put the soft armor on top of the steel plate. Would that help to eliminate the fragments…?

I would love to have full body armor designed and made. A suit fit for NAVY FIREMEN with rescue, hand to hand combat and weapons incorporated.

Where one has the Tools - Weapons and armor necessary to fight possible enemies & Blazing Fires with rescue in mind. Where a Seaman could take hits and still stay afloat.

Possibly with segmented plates and easy detachability.
Something like a Ninja + Samerai + Motorcyclist + SEAL
With a distint style. For Military and Civilian use.

I had the same thought about layering soft armor under hard armor. I would think that should there be a round that makes impact, the durable soft layer will disperse some of the force around the surface area of the pad. There will still be injury, but I would think that it would be the difference between bruised/hairline-fractured ribs to full-on broken ribs.

As to which I would purchase, I think of prioritizing the harm I am prepping for in terms of statistical likelihood and level of harm. If I was a convenience store worker, it would be double plates. As an office guy, it would be the soft pads that can fit underneath a dress shirt, in case someone tries to rob me on my way to the parking lot and things get sloppy. I know people are prepping for much worse these days, but my priority is the immediate and likely harm before the less likely harm.

Good stuff. Personally I like 3+ Fras armor. It's lighter than steel plates, flexible, no spalling, multi hit capable and offers better protection than 3a soft armors

Honestly, everything that isnt steel is pretty worthless. Id rather have a lil more weight and have something to trust longer under more stress with higher capacity and just better everything than id like to spend 700 bycks on some retarded urethane thats gonna blow out after 12 hits maximum

Hey, 307 project ! If you run out of that Hoist take my advice. 1 Luke warm Quart of Water, 1tsp of Baking Soda, 1 tsp of salt. Now, you have a satisfactory electrolyte solution in the field. Brought to you by a Retured Navy Corpsmen. Have a great day, and keep on soldiering !
