I have code p0455 on my 2018 chevy traverse but i don't have a gas cap. I got this code 8 days after replacing canister purge valve for code p0442. Auto zone said code p0455 is the fuel tank pressure sensor

Hi, I replaced the purge valve and the canister on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Hemi 5.7. It has code p0455 large leak. When I go to fill the gas tank, as soon as I am done, and try to start the car, it idles and won’t start. It gets stuck on the cranking, then it stops, and then I try again and now it turn on. It only does it when I fill the gas tank.

Thank you. Went to the Auto parts store. They loan you the diagnostic tool - error code P0455. Saw this video --- cleaned the gas entrance (it has no cap) --- and Guala ! Engine light totally off. Spend 0 dollars thanks to the free diagnostic tool they loan customers and to you ! Thank you so much !

Remember when you fuel your vehicles and to pump automatically kickes off. DO NOT!! CONTINUE to add more fuel. This over fills into the charcoal canister and causes this issue plus worse.

I have this code and I smell gas inside the car so what is the problem please and how can I fix it?

Yes, if you have P0455 code (large evap leak), then replace 1) charcoal canister, 2) vent valve, 3) purge valve (change #1 first, drive if get same code, replace #2, etc...). Hopefully P0455 goes away then you may get P1456 code (small evap leak), then replace rubber hoses that connect to the canister

My truck don’t have a gas cap

My wife has a 2004 Pathfinder and she got a p0455 code (evap gross leak, large evap leak). Took to the dealer, they changed charcoal canister, vent valve, purge valve. Then p0455 code went away, then we got p1456 code (small evap leak). Dealer then changed gas cap, still got p1456 code. Took back to dealer after 1 month, they charged $185 diagnostic fee, said it was stuck vent valve. I researched, bought new fuel tank pressure sensor and vent valve. I installed both, still got p1456 code. On my work day off, I got under car, removed canister (I tested it, good). I noticed rubber hose coming from gas tank to canister was stretchy, so I bought new fuel hose. I cut back a little bit of the purge line rubber hose (it was stretchy). Also I bought new clamps (ones where you use screwdriver to tighten). Installed the new fuel hose (that connects to the canister), 3 new clamps for the 3 hoses that attach to the canister (vent, purge and fuel). Bingo!!! No more codes pop up (no more CEL check engine light). No more evap leaks. Hope this helps somebody.

I noticed how my car was sounding after I replaced the part.. 4 months later the light comes on again and reads the same thing. I’m stuck between a rock in a hard place…

Hello,i have a 2005 mazda 3i, i already changed gas cap with a oem gas cap and changed purge valve and still have code P0455 and also, there's a gas smell when i drive. I already checked under car and see no leaks and already took my car to two mechanics and both of them said they don't smell anything or see anything unusual. Any suggestions??

Steve I have 2007 Tahoe it TAKES 7 r 8 times before it starts had fuel pump change spark plug gas cap dont know what else to do

FYI: THESE ARE THE CODES DETECTED THE ONLY THING I KNOW I KEEP REPLACING IS THE POWER STEERING FLUID BECAUSE IT HAS A WHOLE AND LEAKS IT OUT.. Cn that be the problem. I have until Sunday to pass emission🥴🤦‍♀️😪

try cleaning the purge valve, drying, then adding graphite powder - it worked for me!

I had a code 6 months ago about evap and i was asked to fix it and i fixed it with a new canister and now it shows p0455 error is it because of valve or canister??

Would the purge valve create a whining noise when accelerating? I have an 09 Malibu 3.6 with a p0455 code with a new GM replacement gas cap.

Couldnt find a purge valve for 4.61 lol.

Got po455 cleaned gas cap then cleared code and rechecked for code the light is off but scan tool says permanent code.why is that ?

Saturn vue 2006 v6 , same problem with the code but I replaced the purge valve solenoid underneath the hood and replaced the evap canister underneath the car as well, just did what you instructed and felt no air suck-age , I’m constantly being told to drive it but I have and over 50+ plus miles, any way to help me?

Replaced gas cap , replaced the canister purge valve. Still have engine light. Is there a reset code or something else to do??

Have a 2015 GMC Yukon with the 6.2. Dealership replaced evap valve saying it was stuck open. But the code still comes and goes. Sometimes staying gone for weeks. And sometimes coming on multiple times a day.
Any ideas? Also bought a few new gas caps

When I erase this code after two days it appears again ?? When the fuel tank is full, the code does not appear, and when the fuel level reaches half or a quarter, the code appears again

I checked mine and felt vacuum suck -age from the part that was clipped onto the valve. Wanted to know if I did it right or if I was supposed to feel suck - age from the end of the valve itself? Thank you for the video

Awesome truth telling repair. Mechanics love to screw people over on German cars...when they are truly THE BEST CARS IN THE WORLD. They are not more expensive to repair...people are just dumb enough to pay high prices because they are dumb about these Autobahn cars. They are made to last for over 300k miles...yet there is so much crap & lies about German cars on line. This is because people want you to buy Japanese cars, and they spread hate against these superior cars that run longer, and get better mileage from as compared to Japanese cars. Anything a car from Japan can do, these German cars can do better and "SAFER". Japanese cars are terrible in car accidents and German cars are made & designed to save lives in auto accidents. This is because German cars are designed to survive "SPEED UNLIMITED" on the German Autobahn & no other cars in the world are made to drive at high speeds all day & survive accidents at those speeds.

06 Chevy Equinox, mechanic inspected replaced purge & gas cap same code & issue came up again. Replaced purge valve again, didn’t help. What’s next?

I did all of this and still getting p0455 after filling the tank.
