Would love to know what father Mike thinks of his fellow priests that r 70 yrs old and above and how open they r in communicating the truths of our church...Because they r also of our generation that were not open on informing its parishioners..Father Mike is very open about our faith..Does not mind informing us the gospel.
ОтветитьThank you ❤️🙏🏻
ОтветитьThank you Father Mike if it wasn't for you I would not understand some of these scriptures. I would love to work on the door of the Lord's Temple Like you Father Mike I cannot do what I did 20 years ago. Humility. God bless all 🙏💖
ОтветитьAmen 🙏
ОтветитьI have a question Father. When you say that everything we do for the Lord us sanctifying, is there a limit to that?
ОтветитьWho/What are the giants in my life that I need to slay? Help me Holy Spirit to identify them and defeat them..🙏🏻🙏🏻
ОтветитьLord lead me to the doors I need to open and to the doors I need to shut and bolt.❣️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
ОтветитьThey take the gold, silver, etc from defeated tribes. Isn't that theft?
Ответить🙏❤️
Ответить🙏🏻
ОтветитьI would rather be a guard at tge temple door than anywhere else. God give me a heart that desires You abd to serve You, give me a heart that loves You more than myself and what im comfortable with or want to resign with. Give me a new, clean, happy heart for You. ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьI am peace that there are some things I can't do now that i coukd once do, and that's okay.
ОтветитьFather Mike, when we talk about free will and the consequences of it is easier to understand "why bad things happen to good people" (Harold Kushner on Job) In this lesson are you saying God is driving the famine or causing something "physical" to occur because of a past sin? or is God simply filling David in on the universal consequence (some perhaps deeper revelation of how all things are connected) of sin and not "causing" the famine?
ОтветитьSpiritual reason for a physical phenomenon. I think that's what my low self esteem of many times is. Hmm maybe of half the time I just belabor on it too much.

Round Two
Please pray for Souls in Purgatory. Go ahead, just take about 30 seconds to help save a soul that maybe is your family member or friend! Go forth and help save! Here is the prayer:
(According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory.)
The Prayer of St. Gertrude
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.
God would reply to St. Gertrude that He would use whatever was offered to Him for the faithful departed, according to His inclination to show pardon &
Lord help me to accept the fact that I can no longer do the things I use to do, but one thing I can do is pray. Therefore I try to pray the Rosary every day. I pray for the Pope, for Father Milk and so on
ОтветитьI've been really enjoying these scripture readings and critiques from Father Mike.
I have been a staunch athiest for 25 years but am finding alot of meaning in the bible and their teachings.

Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, & all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. May your word take deep root in our hearts & transform our ways of thinking, deciding, and acting. May your grace open our ears to hear & understand God's voice in the Scriptures that we may revere & treasure both the Old & the New Testaments which God has prepared for all who desire to enter his kingdom. Send us your Holy Spirit to give us the Spirit of Knowledge, that we may know God and know ourselves. Give us the grace to approach the Word of God with meekness & humility, & with an eagerness to do everything God desires. Help us to be diligent students & faithful disciples of your Word. May our hearts never grow dull & may our ears never tire of listening to your voice. Amen.
ОтветитьGod Bless you Father Mike. Thank you for a wonderful session today.
ОтветитьExcellent, Fr. Mike
ОтветитьThat is very true as we get older. We can't do the things we used . Because I remember when I was in my 20s, I do things are used to I am 67 I have a spying problem. I can't live things I get tired of easy. I'm been asked to help on the I'm Usher but because I can't walk very good. It's hard.
Because of my spine. I was in a very bad car accident because of that. I can't walk very well and I recognize that. Now II just sit down and that's someone else. Do it. It's my health disappointment. My I listen to the message. Set a priest Gibbs at mass. And I'm in enjoying listening. I enjoy taking the whole week communion on sandy's and all the holy days, how about obligation?. Go to confession once a month. It's my job going to confession.
Going to mass every sunday and Holy days of obligation. I don't wanna end up in the northern home like my Papa and mama. They had To Dementia I don't wanna trouble my parents having that. I one in the nursing home. Who are the parish priest? Has to bring me the Holy communion To me That will make me feel look at the everyone down.
Amen 🙏.
ОтветитьObedience over sacrifice. God have mercy on us.
God bless you Fr. MIKE & TEAM ❤
Great Psalm 'He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand, He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God' Amen to that💙
ОтветитьMy day is not complete unless I hear Fr Mike. This is my second time around and am absorbing more and more. Praise God
ОтветитьPraying for Fr. Mike & BIY 🙏🙏🙏 A lot of names again. Thanks Fr. Mike for explaining everything to us.🥰🙏
ОтветитьWondering if I'm the only one that thinks when Father is naming these people if they're some of my ancestors?
ОтветитьJust finished BIY episode 139 and was rewarded with a great sense of service as I am a porter before mass at my present church in Colorado Springs. After hearing your words Father Mike extolling the virtue in what seems to be such a minimal act of service being a porter portends, I stand forever buoyed by your belief that my simple service is in itself a miracle since it is done with joy and service to the lord Jesus Christ. My outlook is forever changed.
ОтветитьDay 139. 18 May 2024. 1st Time.
Thank You, LORD, for revealing Yourself to us and nourishing our souls with Your Word. Praying for all priests, like Fr. Mike, and religious, and all devout and faithful souls. Praying also for mankind, especially sinners. Most importantly, O God, praying for the intentions of Our Lady. ❤❤❤
Fr. Mike's insight of "everything that we do, when we do it for the LORD, it's sanctifying..." reminds me of what Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, said that even "picking up a pin (or pen?), can make us into saints, if we do it for the LORD.
18MAY2024. Day 139. O Lord, help us in our obedience to you. Your forgiveness for when we fail. Amen.
ОтветитьDay 140 - today, Saturday May 18th, 2024
When I was younger I could 3 jobs, I had a full time job Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30 pm, I had a part time job Monday to Friday from 5pm to 9pm. I had another part-time job Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 9pm. Now that I am older and my body does not have the strength and energy of my youth I can only work 36 hours a week. I thank God for all His blessings and protections towards me a sinner. I could have died like 9 times already but by the grace of God Almighty I am still alive and rolling on. Deo gratias ❤❤❤❤
May 18, 2024 Saturday. here I am.

ОтветитьBlessed be to God ❤❤❤Amen 🙏 prayers for us Father Mike Amen 🙏
ОтветитьCan we discuss more about who exactly the Giants were? I feel like this is a topic that is never discussed, and I have so many questions.
ОтветитьAn important episode about serving and the effect of sins on our future generations
* David approached Gibeonites in a humble way and asked them genuinely about how he can make things right for them. He indeed sounded like Jesus, as he asked “How can he serve them” instead of “What can I do for you as a King?”
* Fr. Mike is right about our energy and being self-aware as well as humble about our health. Like King David, we cannot continue to be energetic as if we are young forever. We must have that humility to know what we cannot do and we must be obedient to do what we must do by God’s Will.
* Demands of Gibeonites to punish the descendants of former king Saul shows an example of how the sins and mistakes of our ancestors can affect us in some ways. The best we can do is to pray for our protection and if possible, try to make things right by discussing with them and settling peacefully (Something that Gibeonites wouldn’t do though, so this had to happen but I wonder what would have happened if all of Saul’s descendants had escaped?)
* Psalm 40 Thanksgiving for Deliverance and a Prayer for Help- This is a prayer that thanks God for helping us and also shows a request to God for help as David’s troubles never stopped till he died. The psalm mentions salvation, and having the heart like God. Having mercy instead of sacrifice. It is indeed good to live at God’s gates instead of in a palace or a tent of wicked people. Saving the soul is better than saving our body or flesh.
Thank you, Fr. Mike and Team Ascension! God bless you and the fellow listeners
29th May 2024, please pray for the conversion of many many people in South Africa 🇿🇦 before they vote for a new government today . Oh, Heavenly Father, hear our prayer.
ОтветитьTwo years with Bible in a Year with father Mike, third year Catechism in a Year, and back this year with Bible
I learn something different each time and always a lesson to be learned.
God bless father Mike.
Pray for me if you can I am struggling with scrupulously
ОтветитьThank you Father Mike
ОтветитьIts the simple jobs that we take forgranted especially if you never worked at that. I worked as a cashier at HEB and it opened me up. I had to talk to people be sociable.
ОтветитьThank you Jesus!
ОтветитьSo, much hate,
Ответить*Day 139, 08/27/2024
ОтветитьI don't know whether anyone is monitoring comments any more, but I am amazed at how blithely Fr. Mike glosses over the horrific state-sanctioned extrajudicial killing of Saul's descendants. Even if it weren't a VIOLATION OF THE LAW from Deuteronomy 24:16, it's clearly grossly unjust, and NOBODY GAINS ANYTHING from it. Fr. Mike all but praises David's decision, not just to permit it, but to facilitate the unthinkable. Okay, yeah, this is pre-Christian times and different ways of thinking, but Deuteronomy 24:16. David's response to the Gibeonites' request should have been that he can't implement JUSTICE by permitting an abomination, and given them a chance to choose some other form of compensation.
ОтветитьLaudetur Jesus Christus!
