Forgot the JVC😢
Ответитьgod i hate listening to john dingleberry talk
ОтветитьI had a SEGA cd along with Snatcher, I sold it all so that I could purchase a Saturn. It is something I totally regret to this day
ОтветитьI just joined your channel. I love the info you have to share. Ever hear of the mega cd karaoke add on. I got stories to tell. I saw SOA start up in the SF Bay area. Big building. Even Electronic Arts. 3 to 4 guys, in a business park Foster City Ca. Working on old 486 computers.
ОтветитьPlaying burned cdroms on a CDX does NOT break the laser. It CAN cause the focusing electromagnet to fail depending on the dye (the thing the cdrom burner "burns" to write data toa recordable cdrom disc). These optical units are nearly 30 years old now and they do burn out, but that is more about the mtbf of the assembly, NOT that the disc is a burned cdrom. The assembly basically overworks itself and fails sooner than it normally would.
The problem would be easy to fix if a compatible focusing assembly could be sourced, but SEGA CD wasn't terrible successful and the CDX even less so.
These mechanical to digital interfaces have a limited lifespan.
But please stop saying the disc is what is killing the CDX's ability to read discs. It is a mechanical failure of a part that will always happen, regardless of the type of disc used.
This coming from a person with a CDX plus parts trying to get it up and running again. It can play carts and audio CDs, but SEGA CD games will not load. The system attempts to boot the disc but hangs. I might have a cap issue.
Sega CD and 3do were my favorite consoles
ОтветитьI would suggest earthworm jim and monkey island. Great games, tons of childhood memories with em.
ОтветитьThe size of the plugs back in the 90s one plug would take up half your power adapter
ОтветитьWas shocked to not see Lethal Enforcers.. with Justicer gun.
Ответитьroad avenger was the boy for sega cd sound track was amazing
ОтветитьHow much would that cost today? The Sega CD model 2? I purchased this for my daughter and she rarely used it. I have in box not sure if there are CD games? I did find 15 Sega Genesis games. Not sure their worth but want to sell since I can use the money right now. Just not sure where to go? Any feedback appreciated.
ОтветитьI have the model 2, and it did not come with the extender piece for the model 1 Genesis. Pisses me off to this day.
ОтветитьMan i can’t believe how much Keio Flying Squadron is going for. Used to own it 😫. It had a great soundtrack. Owned Snatchers too and that game terrified me when i was small. Also Thats a sick hat
ОтветитьI got the Kentucky fried reference and how it was used to describe the quality of a CD games audio was Amazing LOL
ОтветитьDude doesn’t even know it was called Mega CD elsewhere lol
Ответитьi like the shining force cd and the lunar and lunar 2
ОтветитьMega everdrive pro makes this pointless now
Ответитьdoes the sega cd play dvds??
ОтветитьNot sure if you've ever had a megadrive, but all you had to do was cut away some bits on the cartridge entrance and you could put Genisis games in and play them no problems. That might explain why that Panasonic thing would play all region games on cartridge
Ответить🔥🔥🔥
Ответить95% of the American people collect only American games. European people collect Pal, USA and Japanese.
Don't tell me please the answer are the tv in 60hz than have problems with 50hz games.
In my view the reason is American people are too patriotic.
They say love Sega Saturn and have maybe only USA games ect. How is that possible?!
Again don't tell me you have some compatible issues because there are so many ways as for us European play Japanese and American games.
Most of the American Collectors are so proud to have all the USA games but miss the best Japanese!
The region thing: cartridges (more of than not) were region free. The mega drive checks the cartridge for the region. The Mega CD region is part of its bios, so if the disc doesn’t match the bios, it won’t boot. There are ways around this (ever drive can boot different region bios files etc) and you can get region free bios chips.
ОтветитьSuper epic episode!
😎
Final fight cody
ОтветитьGuy's pls make more videos on sega!!!!Any chance for sega mega drive???
ОтветитьIs there a way to play japanese on an us cd player?
ОтветитьRobo Aleste > Lords of Thunder
ОтветитьWhere do I find a Sega CD with cheap price?
ОтветитьPSA: If you're a collector, do not play the actual game on your system. SEGA CD does not have copy protection, burn a copy and play that instead. From what I've discovered, everyone is buying CD writers that have label flash or other etching tech to burn copied SEGA CD games, then burn a cool image on the disc. They keep their "actual game" in a glass case or some shelf, but end up playing the copy only. If you own a SEGA CD and intend to use it, burn the games and only play those.
ОтветитьDark wizard for president!!!
ОтветитьLunar is a must play
ОтветитьSurprised the Sega CD is still around the same price 5 years after this video, even after COVID mania.
ОтветитьI’m also from Redding, and when John brought up a place that rented games by the hour it brought back memories. It was like an arcade but with consoles setup. They had every console and a huge library of games. So you could sit down and play a ton of different games on consoles that you didn’t own. Good times.
ОтветитьLmao “I’m missing the turbografx add on” nudge nudge wink wink. Not even subtle about it.
ОтветитьDude, where is Silpheed? That was a shocker, still is
ОтветитьLove these buying guides, probably not the best place to post this comment but any chance of an xbox one buying guide??
ОтветитьI was a YU-U-UGE Sega enthusiast and the biggest Sega CD promoter ever. I was one of the first SMS, Genesis, Sega CD, and 32X buyer. I will also agree that many Sega CD games were awesome. However, there were so many crappy games (especially those infamous FMV games--mostly left over from Hasbro's failed VHS "game" "system" that thankfully capitalism killed off. Unfortunately, capitalism really proved itself to be merely the lesser of two evils, true to form releasing the maximum quantity of utter garbage and ensuring that consumers never found themselves with socialist shortages of ANYTHING!
ОтветитьI've got the Vector wondermega that plays Megadrive and Mega cd games 🙏🏽🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
ОтветитьI like how Metal Jesus asks all these questions acting like he doesn’t already know the answer and details of the Sega CD
ОтветитьGreat video. When I had a model 2 Sega CD I used burned games because the games I wanted to buy (retail copies) were too expensive, keios flying squadron, snatcher, rise of the dragon etc.
ОтветитьSnatcher and Night Trap for me
ОтветитьMy parents bought me a SegaCD for xmas it brand new and I believe it was $199 but anyways I had for about 3 months and I had a friend who stayed over and the next morning he was about to leave and he stepped right on it and the prongs where they connect was completely broken and it never played ever again. Yeah I was a pissed off 14 year old after that lol
ОтветитьI bought Snatcher new in a bargain bin for $5. There was 20 of them.
ОтветитьWhich is better the Sega CD or the Sega 32X
ОтветитьSo surprising how little MJR knows about these systems
ОтветитьI am so thankful these systems were easy to come by lol otherwise i would have never owned one growing up for sure lol I only ever still to this day know only one other person who has owned a sega cd lol
ОтветитьI had model one...no issues with mine. The model 2 could be opened with just the button while the first one you had to use the controller with it on to open it.
ОтветитьYou guys should do a update on this sadly i just got my sega Genesis model 1 with sega cd and sadly all them sega cd is over 100 dollars
ОтветитьSoul Star was a greater shooter too.
