In the not so distant past the idea of lab grown meat was simply imposible. Next it was theoreticly posible but too dificult. Now we've actually produced the stuff and the next big hurdle is scale.

But aparently producing it at scale is imposible? Is that real science?

Lab grown meat may not be here right now at scale but the fact that it's even worthy of serious thought or discution represents some major technological breakthroughs. It should be interesting to see what the real issues of scale production turn out to be in the future.

This is starting to remind me of the electric car conundrum. We have to mine a whole bunch of stuff from the earth for the electronics of the car and still use fossil fuels to make the Plastics in the car. And then we have to rebuild the grid system to be able to handle the electrical draw on the system.
