It's not a matter of plastering as much detail in your art as possible to make your art interesting. It's about organizing it in patterns and guidelines for our eyes to follow. COMPOSITION Is what makes your art interesting. Hope this video helps artists. 💙

I made a tutorial ages ago but it’s pretty outdated. I’ve learned a lot since and it was so boring that I wanted to try my hand at another Art video where I share my takes on what I know. I hope this video helps other artists and if you think it’ll help other artists you know- perhaps consider sharing it with them.

There’s a million different techniques for the same things and this is how my brain thinks of composition. (something different might be said from another. So learn from many artists! Not just one!) I personally am ironically a very left side-brained individual. Despite being a Creative~ I think of my creativity very much on the left side of my brain. What you might expect more from a blue-print artist for mechanical engineering or an architect. As for me, I am an old Psychology student. Always been a fan of psychology and I learned a lot from my classes back in college. We learned a lot that I realize correlates with art such as the psychology of how we perceive art! And I believe my understanding of psychology aids me greatly in coming up with invisible lines and relationships between shapes/objects/colors to make patterns for our ‘pattern-seeking brains’ to pick up on. I’m sure most other art tutorials that talk about composition will say that this or that is more appealing in this format over another. But they don’t explain WHY “rule of thirds makes things more interesting” on a scientific level. but thanks to my education in psychology I actually have a scientific reason WHY our brains find certain set-ups more appealing over another! Pretty neat right? An interesting perspective in art I hope --most don’t even know are correlated!

There’s a ton about Composition I could go on and on about. After all it is QUITE a Vast fundamental. Something you could take an entire semester in college in honestly if not more. But I think every time I make a new painting I’d like to make either it/or a second video with it as an example talking about a fundamental that I think that art piece does well. So I don’t think I’m good at tutorials. But I think I’m good at explaining what I know and how I apply it to my art which I hope can be very informative to growing artists.

This video was a ton more work than I thought. Liek 30 hours work (not counting the actual creation of the art either lol) And it’s not even as polished and super pro looking as I wish it could be. lolol But I don’t think I’m skilled enough as a video editor to make it any better than this. So this will have to do haha.
