lost me at "extraction shooter"

Extraction shooter..so no vehicles? basically only 1 gun? ....ill pass lol

This video needs more views. As someone who plays eve still and has now for 17 years, the failure of dust was sad, but needed. It allowed ccp to fix a lot of stuff related to the Eve universe. Now is the best time to launch a new shooter. I hope many people try it.

I honestly think they should be going down the route of taking up directly from where Dust left off. The probes with Dust was it was PS3 exclusive. Which made no sense for a game directly connected to a PC space MMO. This game will flop. It’s doing absolutely nothing interesting. A massive space ground war sim connected to EVE online would be much much more interesting. This looks really quite basic. Why they think copying Tarkov is a good idea makes no sense, when they should be pickup up from BF and Planetside

Kinda disappointingly low-tech in lore terms. Given the state of technology up in space, the idea of a handful of dudes with fairly modern-looking tiny pewpews doing anything of even passing significance is a bit laughable.
It's like, "Good job, you did the thing, you ran a few metres and pewpew'd that guy. In the time it took you to reload, three ships blew up in orbit, hundreds of thousands of crew lost in an instant, and someone pressed a button to glass everything from orbit."

I mean even if they had battles that were reminiscent of Planetside 2 or Warhammer 40k, it still... doesn't really mesh with the Eve setting. There should be crazy mechs and swarms of drones at the very least.

Kinda feels like sci-fi has got itself stuck in a bit of a rut lately. Looking at the presentation of technology in Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen - FTL travel... and yet, little pewpews, space suits, that "corporate chic" vibe with carbon fibre and little white arrows on things...
What happened to the days of weird organic technology, and "indistinguishable from magic" stuff?

god this game looks like such hot garbage, dust was a good game, crippled by being a console exclusive, because, y'know, let's take a game set in one of the most notoriously complex universes that only the most hardcore PC players even wanna play, and put it on a platform, that usually attracts only the most casual gamers. They literally did it to themselves, and dust could've easily still been alive i think if they had just released it on any decent platform.

Another game lost to the extraction shooter genre. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not for me.

I played dust514 and I liked it. I like how it was connected to the EVE universe. I am looking forward to this one as well.

It could be cool. But what is the current obsession with extraction shooters? It feels like the battle royale trend all over again. Like the market is too saturated right now.

Like most of the population, I don’t think you’ll ’get it’ right away, Level.

This game is a spiritual successor to Dust 514 from back in the day on PS3, the community would love the devs to make the game the same as Dust 514 and then improve on it but in order to appeal to a wider audience it needs to be more than that.

If the suits, weapons and vehicles come back, the Dusties will be happy (and they need to fix the tram system too!), but in order for it to become sustainable they will probably need something like microtransactions to move it along.

This won’t be the game ‘we’ want it to be for a few years at least so like me, I imagine most will just lurk in the background until there’s a heavy suit, a forge gun and a minigun as well as a smattering of vehicles and then dive in.

Us folks that used to play every single day now have kids and houses to run so it will take something special to claw us back. We’ll be keeping half an eye out though so hopefully see you on the battlefield in 2025.

I played Dust 514 before and it was a pretty game hopefully Vanguard will be even better.

Wait. Bro the concept/idea for EVE 514 is top tier. I need games like that and Planetside 2 and more shit like that where it's like galactic war real time. Fighting on Planets and those Battles actually have concrete standing within the world. Maybe winning a battle means that the highest ranking group could rule over the planet in some way.

Sounds like a random collection of features. Nothing about it stands out. I don't think this will take for non EVE online players.

Tired of extractions

I don’t care if it’s an extraction game or not, if it looks good then what’s the problem? Gamers love to constantly cry about everything.

Imagine if they made a planetside type game instead of a dumb extraction shooter. Should have just taken Dust 514 and fixed it.
