Thank you so much!!! I’m really enjoying the app. And having focus hours. Where I don’t touch my phone and just focus on reading.
Except whenever they mention something and I’m like “I wonder what that is” and go to check my phone lol
But thank you so much for the advice. Keep up the good work :)
Download the books for free. Donate to authors patreon for the books you enjoy. More sustainable and you get to support the person that deserves the support the most
ОтветитьI am an old subbie to your other channel and new to this one- and newly, eh like one month deep back into reading and girrrl- Libby & Me are 🤞
I simply love having the ability to read for free and get on the holds lists, and there’s enough material available online to keep me busy for a lifetime I’m sure. I also love just having everything in the same app! I know some people prefer to use a different reader- but in the kind of person who likes it alllllll together.
I love Forest. Such a helpful app.
ОтветитьI’m a super slow reader so I often don’t read a lot because I read too slow. Something that motivates me is that on goodreads you can add the page number you’re on and then it says how much % you’ve read so far and this somehow really motivates me😆
ОтветитьGrowing up, my parents used to buy my brother and I a book once a month, even when money was tight. There are usually a great selection of books at cheaper prices ($1-$5) at Goodwill. I do have a Libby account with about four different library cards attached to it (;
To recover from a reading drought, I tend to reread one of my favorite books to get me back in the spirit of things. (Also, my memory kind of sucks, so I do reread some of my favorite books once every few years anyway.)
To find books, I go to the bookstore and read the backs of books in my favorite sections. If I find a book I think I’ll like, I take pics of the book cover so I can get them from the library at a later date.
also forest premium pays for trees to be planted. you can always try that. i like to pretend i have it so that way it feels like i'm helping the earth more by reading
ОтветитьWhere is your sweater from? I'm obsessed!
ОтветитьZlibrary is what I use... it has so many books that you can download for free... they even have new releases
ОтветитьI would love to know how she came to live in South Korea. Does she have a video on that?
Ответитьdownload illegal versions is really damaging for the authors (in my country), them get so little money from the books and if you don’t buy a book by you favorite author they won’t be offered to publish another because it is not worth it for the publishing house.
ОтветитьIndie author here. I've been the victim of pirating and I really wish you would've deterred people more heavily from downloading free books illegally. It's essentially stealing. I know your heart was in the right place and yes, we do want people to read our books to a certain extent. However, reading illegally pirated copies hurts everyone involved, especially the author. Just my two cents.
ОтветитьI’m in high school and my school did give me a library card. It’s so helpful and I use it all the time for libby
ОтветитьI love these tips, thank you so much for making this! I’ve recently got back into reading and I usually read a chapter when I wake up and a chapter before I go to bed and anything else in the day is definitely a bonus for me!
ОтветитьBeautiful video
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
thanks for that video! i am brazilian, and here books are SO expensive, and when we want to read in another language, physical books are almost impossible to buy if u don't have much money. the idea of online libraries open a new world to me, so thanks a lot 🥺♥️
ОтветитьMy problem is that I want to read, and I love it when I start, but I just find it so difficult to get myself to start and I have no idea why. Like it’s much easier to just float around and watch yt videos and go on Insta and aimlessly scroll. Though I guess this too is something I need to work on, like getting back into the gym, once it’s a habit and you’ve gotten out of that reflex of resisting it, you actually end up loving it and seeing your progress... however reading is far more enjoyable than the gym 😅
Ответитьi have so much problem with concentrating, specially because 98% of the time im reading on my phone :( its too easy to leave the app and go check instagram or something else. i annoy myself with this habit but i just cant help it 😫
Ответить❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьI loved your “side notes”, tips and recommendations, thank you. 🥰 I also love Forest, but since I changed my phone the app is not available to me for free anymore, SO I found another great one: Study Bunny 😍 It’s cute, easy, similar to the Forest (but instead of trees I have to make a cute bunny HAPPY), I’m using it to focus on reading but also on studying and even to properly watch things. It has a To Do list, Flash cards and I can decorate my bunny and it’s room/landscape with the coins I earned by focusing 😜 I like Goodreads. And use kindle on my cellphone. “So many books, so little time” that’s sadly the truest part of readers life... (does this sentence even make sense?)
Ответитьomgg where did u get ur sweaterrr!!!!
ОтветитьFor anyone who can’t focus when reading like me because of background noises and chattering etc listen to library ambience it helps me focus so much 🤍
ОтветитьOk, can anyone help me? so i used to read a ton until 5th grade, and by that i mean that i will read books, after books, in class and outside, in the car and basically everywhere. but when i got to 5th grade i stopped. the only reason i can think of is the fact that my new teacher (since i changed schools) gave me and the rest of the class books that we needed to read, like those really old ones that at that age don’t really make any sense. but since then i could not even pick up a book without feeling obligated to read it and feeling bored. i tried so many different ways to do it, but i just lost all interest. is it possible to find a way to enjoy reading again?
ОтветитьHello, I am a student of English. I would like to follow you for practicing my listening skills. Apart from this, I liked your tips, I agree with you. In School, I had to read a lot of book that really i didn't do, because it was an obligation. Few years ago, I read some book of that time, I could enjoy it much more. It wasn't a homework.
I usually read at weekend or each night, but I don't have enough time to read focus in an intense story. Or Fridays at night too.
U live in korea?!?!
ОтветитьAxis 360 is amazing, too!!! It uses the same Library system as Overdrive and Libby, but I guess it's just like a place where if Overdrive doesn't have it available, then Axis might. (If that makes sense...) Anyways, your channel is so cool!
ОтветитьSince you read books that are suggested to you, if you haven’t already, please read The Shadow Queen. It’s a retelling of Snow White, but she’s less like a damsel in distress and kind of badass. It’s a little typical or classical but it was a great read for me!
ОтветитьI will absolutely be downloading the forest app!! thank you! 😃💛
ОтветитьOmg the forest app is the cutest thing ever! Such a good video btw! <3
Ответитьif you haven't already red white and royal blue and the seven husbands of evelyn hugo are both AMAZING BOOKS. both lgbtq+ romances. amazing.
ОтветитьThe way I would literally stare at the tree as it grows
Ответитьmy library has failed me. they don't have libby OR overdrive TT
Ответитьno but i just found out u live in korea T___T
ОтветитьWhen she said the 1.5x thing 😦 how did u know?
ОтветитьI decided to read instead of watching Netflix. I was just getting so bored with the shows on Netflix but with books there's so much variety! I also only read 'books' on Kindle and I read more self helpy/textbooks on iPad/iPhone!
ОтветитьI also live in Korea and I was so sad when "WhatTheBook" closed. I get all my books on libby or buy the book. I miss having real books but my apartment is also small so its probably good I can't buy them in person anymore.
ОтветитьI just started using forest and i absolutely love it. the plants are so cute and it's helped me with focusing a lot more and stay away from my phone. i used to have major separation anxiety with my phone but now i can stay away from it for hours if i need to. it's helped me stay more engaged with everything going on around me. absolutely love it!!
Ответитьyou remind me of Pam from The Office!
ОтветитьHoopla is fantastic! If a book or audio book is on there, you can borrow it right away without having to place holds or wait for it to become available and you can keep it for twenty days.
ОтветитьI really hope that Libby/Overdrive expands to more countries cause even in my country, there isn't a library website.... it sucks so much :(
ОтветитьThe forest app allows you to put the timer up to 180 minutes in advaced settings!! (at least in android)
ОтветитьLove both of your channels! I am planning a trip to Seoul in the future :) If you still are there I would love a chance to meet you. My future Mother-In-Law is from there and married her American husband there while he was in the service. She then came to the states. I have always been drawn to that culture. I have been trying different Korean dishes. Some I like but some I don't. Went to the Hanguk Market 3 hours from me the other day. Loved it in there :)I live in West Virginia btw. I most recently decided to learn the history and language. Seoul is so beautiful! I like to read but it always makes me soooo sleepy :( What kind of plant is that in the background? It is very pretty!
ОтветитьI do feel pressured about reading sometimes but this really helped me😁
I read about 130 books a last year😀
And I'm really proud of it!!!
Keep up the good work😊
Thank you for this! I have been stressing about reading all the things, and like. Why? :P I'll try Forest for reading, and I'm trying to find a spot to just read.
ОтветитьI love reaaaading honestly! But the reason why I do not read as much as I would like is mainly because of my work (I work in consulting and from mon to frid I finish really), by the time I start reading I fall asleep haha
ОтветитьThank you so much for the Libby recommendation! I've read 3 books on it so far since watching this video. Seriously can't thank you enough.
ОтветитьIf you liked Six of Crows you would absolutely love Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan!!
Ответить
