I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos and for getting me through ASL in my Deaf-blind Intervenor Program. I found ASL very challenging to learn on the receptive side, but you were very clear and patient and that helped in my learning.I recommend you to anyone looking to learn Sign Language.

Ive been wanting to learn sign language for so long but since its different in every country i just cant decide which

Like the most common source would probably be asl, but fir english in europe id assume its bsl.. but i live in germany which is yet another language
Its a tough choice

I was watching rikki poynter a while back and found you recommended in one of her videos. I'm only on at the ten minute mark but this is awesome! I'm usually on on my pc from sun up to sun down unless I'm watching my little brother. Being able to actually engage with my body and silence at the same time is really nice and something I haven't able to do properly in years I usually have something with sound going a song, tv show, a video. It's really nice to feel like my body is mine and I'm in control over it like I'm actually present in the world.

I did away with my hearing aids after nearly two years of them sitting in their case broken. it had been so long that when we finally got them fixed I couldn't stand the sound of the heat kicking on, the refrigerator running, people going from room to room, talking ect. I couldn't tune any of it out, couldn't deal with it anymore I'd gotten so used to only engaging in conversation and the rest of my family when I was actively trying to.

I wanted to learn sign for years and although I know fingerspelling I could never string together the letters to make words so I'm hoping I can get better at this and pick up full signs too thank you so, so much

I restarted last week, I work in instructional and I just realized how big the shortage is for translators in my area to cover the student-staff radius. Thank you so much Dr. Vicars

I was born hearing impaired, my family was discouraged from teaching me to sign back in the 70s. So now that Ive lost most of the little hearing I had, it has made me sad i couldnt communicate with my own community. Ive been in classes the last couple years, but this is so much more immersive and helpful than hearing teachers who just dont get it. So thank you so much.

Thank you for posting these instructional videos! I recently decided to learn ASL after being diagnosed with cholesteatoma which unfortunately I lost part of the mallas and it completely ate up the incus in my left ear, I also lost parts my skull surrounding the ear as well. I was really feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of having to learn on my own (I don't have money for school) when I found these videos which are very informative, interesting and make learning asl fun! It give me hope that I can learn. So thank you for making these lessons online and asscebile to all.

One of the most difficult things for me to follow along with is spelling. As hard as I may try, I struggle to group all of the letters together to form the word in my head. Not sure if being dyslexic is causing issues or my ability to interpret the signs ?

Serious question: it hurts my hand to form some of the letters. Especially the letter "e".

Can you be a little flexible in forming them? I would seriously injure myself to achieve a handshape identical to yours...🥺

I watched the part one of the series one time through before this. (I know I should have started here) and then didn't really think about it or remember until the next day. I did it on a whim and when this evening came up I decided to come back and see what I remembered and realized I didn't forget a single sign that was shown in part one of the ASL series.

I don't really know anyone who is deaf, nor do I work anywhere that ASL would be needed but the language is incredibly interesting so here's to my new journey. I'll start from the top and see how much I can learn.
