I went for 2 fittings to get my 659 CB just right and in BLACK. Might go for a TAIII 54 deg wedge soon. The coloring of the irons is the same that is used on guns so it isn't going to wear off like we've seen on other irons.
ОтветитьAll DTC brands are the same chinese company wearing different hats.
ОтветитьSomeone else mentions it in a comment but I'll say it here too direct to consumer isn't dead but it is oversaturated. There are brands at pretty much every price point, some of which are better than others, that all claim these amazing things and yet at the end of the day most people aren't going to give them a chance and are either going to play with their grandpa's old clubs or with one of the major brands because they've heard of them. The other problem with direct consumer is that people can't try them out but I know some brands (possibly sub 70 included) let you basically rent clubs to try them out.
ОтветитьWait a goddamn second Al, you didn't mention that they also put on custom ferrules when they build them for you...
ОтветитьDTC won't die until Maltby lets it 🫡
Ответить"Just Shanked It..." Big Al 2024 😂
ОтветитьTraditionally I've never liked a chunky top line, I like the clean line like what clubs had when I was a kid.
But nowadays I'm so used to clubs giving me a bit more help, that shot of the top of the blade literally made me gasp, and not in a good way....there was definitely teeth sucking going on...🫣
Completely agree, DTC are not dead. Got fit into Mizunos, went online and purchased New Level 401 TC with the same shafts, same specs and same swing weight for a third of the price. Absolutely love what DTC brands are doing to the industry.
ОтветитьBetter player? Yes, these were designed for Tommy Armour III to play on the Champions Tour. They're beautiful and the one downside of DTC brands is that I can't hit them to see if I have the game to put them in the bag (I'm betting I don't since I'm playing off 14 right now). The 659 Tour Cavity are also a great looking set that I might be able to hit. Sub 70 is a great company and I've been playing the 699 irons, a hybrid, and two woods from them. On top of the heads, the available shafts give you the ability to create any flight or shot shape you want.
ОтветитьShanked it straight into Betty's front yard😂 Al showing us how good the bad shots are with the clubs 😂. It's never the golfer's fault
ОтветитьSub 70 659 TC Forged Black Irons from 5 iron to A wedge! Just got them this summer and they’re fantastic! Plus they look cool! Great review as usual Al!
ОтветитьI cleaned the grooves of my new Takomos with the little metal spike on my club cleaning tool and it just destroyed the groove giant metal chunks coming out, made of chinesium. Never again.
ОтветитьNoah needs a tripod!
ОтветитьI went on Wilson Staffs website the other day and they have a custom club builder process on their website that not a single DTC brand could match. There were like 15 shaft options and as many grip options, loft and lie. Every single iron they offer was on that portal. If anything, major brands are trying to be more like DTCs
Ответитьsub70 wedges, putters and irons are top notch. Putters are carbon steel with adjustable weights and are about $200 cheaper than comparable putters from "other" brands. I used the 949x 4 wood this year with smoke black 70. It was unbeatable off the tee with a penetrating trajectory. Off the ground not so much for me but it's a little more shaft than I can swing without teeing it up. This company has amazing customer service. Unless you want 50 grams of tungsten in your irons, they're as good as anything IMO.
ОтветитьProbably dead unless you buy RAM clubs, they're still affordable
ОтветитьAl….was the fella behind the camera pissed 🤣🤣
ОтветитьI got Sub 70 659 CB's in all black for an absolute steal, but I suck so I use Cobra F Max instead 😅 one day I'll be able to use my fancy clubs
ОтветитьJust ordered mine last week. Plan on switching my entire bag.
ОтветитьI had a set of takomo 301’s. They’re absolutely sick for the price. I’m not good enough to play them so I switch back to Mizuno hot metal pros. That being said they’re still REALLY high quality clubs for the price.
ОтветитьAl I can’t help but ask what’s going on with the hair on the right side lol. Left side tucked up under the hat. Right side. Bush 😂😂. Love the content. Dtc is definitely a good option for a lot of people.
ОтветитьSo Beautiful love these irons
ОтветитьD to C is sure not dead.. it has never been stronger.. just look at Takomo.. they are killing it with pure quality.. as you should know 😊
ОтветитьPlay the Sub70 699U 2 iron, 17 degrees with an Aldila NV shaft and it’s a rocket launcher. 250 yards off tee and forgiving, great driving iron for only $80. Friends call me crazy for playing a 2 iron 😂
ОтветитьI love my Sub 70 TAiii 3-pw irons. Pretty forgiving blade
ОтветитьThanks Al, not just for reviewing DTC brands but also for making the reviews so much fun to watch. Keep up the great work and God Bless brother
ОтветитьDTC brands are trying to price like big brands nowadays... Since thats the case, theres no benifits to buying DTC anymore, just buy in store and play same day. Also, trade in value on brands like PXG & Sub70 is trash, clubs are like cars, holding value is important.
ОтветитьBeen gaming the 699 Pro V2s since April and have been loving them love that I was able to get everything my spec without destroying the bank account
ОтветитьCheers mate, interesting watch. 👍😀
