How much is the summit athlete program? I tried looking at the link but couldn’t find it?? Thanks so much.
ОтветитьI hear you - I have done it since 2018 - this year might have been my last ---- unless I find some funky place like Kirgistan or something
ОтветитьI deeply appreciate what I've learned from you in the last 2 years, and I love seeing your passions evolve. I'm 66 now, working daily to find ways to maintain a level of flexibility and fitness and mobility... your videos, the time and care you put into them, have been a source of inspiration and motivation. When you start up a team of Old Dudes still doing it, within the limitations age has imposed upon their bodies... THAT's the Team I will beg to join.
Ответитьkeep producing exercise videos. they are useful to anybody regardless of the activity they wish to pursue.
ОтветитьYour weak
ОтветитьI'm excited about the prospect of doing some reasonably serious thru hiking with my partner but tbh what I want to do most of all is just sit by a campfire in an isolated spot with a beautiful view and drink beer, smoke some weed and even a few cigarettes, and listen to music. I can't imagine life being any better than that. I've done all the fitness stuff and pushed myself to the limit with gym, cycling, windsurfing etc. I know how it feels to be supremely fit and strong, and capable of anything. And don't get me wrong, it's fantastic. But it's like, the supposed challenge that I always felt I was preparing myself for, simply never arose. So now that I'm older I just wanna relax and drink good quality ale lol.
ОтветитьI’m a year away from 40. My entire career has been all work, minimal play. Now I’m running a business as we,, for the past 6 months, and I’ve been exploring more of the world around me and taking time to adventure. I’ve always wanted to thru hike. But I too, am at that point of, how do I possibly take 4 months off, without losing clients? I suppose time will tell. Can relate to your videos as always. Keep it classy
ОтветитьI discovered through hiking is not for me either. Really didn’t like anything about and I trashed my feet trying it. Now I’m rehabbing. Backpacking to reach a summit objective is more my speed. But I like “drive to the trailhead and summit” trips best.
ОтветитьGreat honesty, when you’ve got time I would love to see your HPR route, good luck with your future adventures 👍
ОтветитьMuch respect to you, I definitely like your honesty and the fact that you are confident in being your authentic self.
I have always enjoyed your training content the most, because your passion for it and your joy in it shine through every time.
I'm a senior hiker and climber of small mountains here in New Zealand, and I find your content very useful indeed.
All the best as you develop your new chapters in life - I know you will have an absolute blast!
Oh, and I totally agree with you regarding how much bs the whole convid thing is... 🤦🏻♀️ 😅🙆🏻♀️
Finally chasing mountains!
ОтветитьI just subbed really respect your honesty in this video
ОтветитьGreat one less to pass me on my 2024 CDT escapade..... Oh & thanks
ОтветитьThank you for leaving an informative and inspiring legacy for those of us wanting to experience hiking to the fullest. Love your fitness tips and routines the most — definitely benefited from your passion and expertise 🙏
ОтветитьAre you forgetting the people who sit at desks 5 days a week? who yearn for their Saturday morning long runs (or Friday-afternoon-bug-out-early runs). For those on "the other side", and especially the beginners, you have probably inspired tens of thousands toward a healthier life. So no matter which side of the screen you sit on, it's still work (those on the other end are still manufacturing the gear, or research or banking or whatever it may be) ....so there is always a continual yin and yang of sharing experience and knowledge. For all you know, you may have saved people thousands in medical bills, depression, or otherwise. Maybe you should conduct a (real) market survey to find out? You have a 168K population to draw a sample from....and suddenly you have even more business :)
ОтветитьGood riddance
Ответитьclick bait mate !
ОтветитьThanks for the information shared and good luck on the future!!
ОтветитьAlways enjoy letting hobbies & interests evolve with life. Well done and great videos!
ОтветитьWishing you continued success. So happy for you. I’ve enjoyed your content and I know I will enjoy your new content.
ОтветитьLooking forward to the new adventures as well going back through the hicking videos just found your channel and loving it
ОтветитьThe amount of elitism I experienced on my thru hike this year made me sick.
ОтветитьStumbled across this video. What an amazing mindset you have. So many videos I have watched and I know many that should watch this. I admire your love of life and your plans for your future. Stay safe always :)
Ответить👍😎🇺🇸😉🤗
ОтветитьI am so grateful for the wealth of information you are sharing on your channel which I just found I have been very frustrated dealing with my personal trainers
ОтветитьIn only one of my climbing/hiking times have I paid any attention to making videos and taking good photographs. It was the only time I did not enjoy the climb itself (and I failed to summit). After returning, I spent a lot of time introspecting, and came to the same conclusion that you mention: I failed, and I didn't enjoy it, because my attention was diverted away from being "there". I have never carried any such equipment ever since (not even a camera, other than the one in my rudimentary phone). It was the best decision I have ever made, even though my friends and family have never really understood why I don't take more pictures or videos to share with them. You have no idea how much my respect for you has increased because of the things you said in this video.
ОтветитьMissed this specific video but have enjoyed and admired your channel for a couple years or more now even though I've never been personally interested in thru-hiking beyond a casual fascination and distant inkling. I really think much of what you describe in terms of learning and the spiritual/community/present/awareness... really much of the same, is how I felt about long-term world travel for a very long time (the "other" type of backpacking). I'd say there are distinct parallels between the two. I do miss it, but I have different priorities now, learned what I needed to, made friends for life and am richer and more present and thankful in every aspect of my more rooted life for years now. <3 Love and respect to you.
Ответить"The things you own end up owning you."
ОтветитьTime is short, be true to you
ОтветитьRespect ✊
ОтветитьInterests change over time. Keep pursuing your passions whatever they are. 👍🏻
ОтветитьThru hiking was so much cooler before social media ruined aspects of it.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing all your learned lessons over the years with us. As someone who is just about to begin their thru hiking journey you helped streamline my preparation so much. Best of luck in your new adventures ahead.
ОтветитьBest of luck, Chase. I always enjoy your videos and insight and look forward to learning more from you regarding conditioning.
ОтветитьTotally understandable.. And I'll stick!!! 🤗
Ответитьfeel like im watching the end of a journey im just starting. cant wait to dive into your videos.
ОтветитьAll the very best with your plans for the future Chase. You were instrumental in me reaching EBC in 2014. You keep doing things your way and look forward to seeing what do next.
Ответить40 years straight chiropractic experience. The pelvis joint (sacrum/ilium) must work on both sides in both functional directions. If dysfunctional, you will wear-out your knee joints, weaken your ankles and sometimes have pain/tightness or early fatigue in the lower extrems.
ОтветитьSo in short... this is a vanlife channel now xD jk
ОтветитьMileage isn’t everything.
ОтветитьAwesome bro. It seems many videos I've seen on hiking are more about gear to use rather than how to prepare the body and mind and also spirit. Just had a 12 hour day hike yesterday and it got me thinking about this, how much these activities benefit our body, mind and soul. Cheers
Ответить🥰TQ
ОтветитьReally looking forward to the coming alpinism content!
ОтветитьDamn. Just found your content as well.
Ответитьgrowth is always important. if you've reached the stage of "coasting" you are in decline.
so nice to hear someone being so honest and open about this. that's rare imo. good for you. all of the content that you have already shared is priceless really... and i wish you many successes in any of your future endeavours. you deserve it.
Very healthy attitude.
ОтветитьMaybe you should go to Taiwan to climb the 100 peaks in Taiwan. All 100 peaks are above 3000m.
ОтветитьVery wholesome perspective, I dig it
