This might be a big ask thats sounds too good to be true and probably won’t happen at all.

But I think that not only the update should be one for Heavy, not only as second war for the machines, but since its been so long since we had a huge update at all, this update could be one that gives out a ton of new weapons. With Heavy receiving the most (since it’s his update) with two or three new Primary Weapons, one new shotgun with maybe a new lunchbox item, and one or two new Melee weapons.

Meanwhile, the rest of the class could lets say, have one or two new weapons for each class.

I'm on team Add A New Slot For Heavy, making lunchboxes have their own equip slot alongside the minigun, shorfun, and melee. The heavy meta would go through some drastic changes for sure

My thoughts on your desires for a Heavy update:

First, your idea for a buff to the Huo-Long Heater is terrible and I hope it never sees the light of day.

I don't know how long you've been playing, but when the Huo-Long Heater was adding to the game on August 3rd, 2012, it didn't have any damage modifiers; it was functionally just stock Minigun with the ring of fire when revved and ammo drain. The problem is that on Payload offense, sticking a Heater Heavy on the cart just made it a strictly better Minigun, violating Valve's design philosophy that no weapon should be a strict upgrade. So on July 7th, 2016, in the Meat Your Match update, it was given the damage modifiers it still has today.

Removing the 10% damage nerf but keeping the 25% damage bonus against burning players would not make it "lItTeRalLy jUsT sToCk wItH a sTroNgEr cLoSe rAnGe," because that was the original Heater; what you're proposing is objectively even stronger than the first Heater, which was already in some cases a strictly better stock, except against burning players, it would deal even more damage than The Brass Beast, except without the Beast's ridiculous movement penalties.

I think all that really needs to be done to buff the Huo-Long Heater is to give it the ability to toggle the ring of fire, then some way of igniting enemies over distance, like igniting enemies after dealing so much damage within a certain time, or Fishstick's idea of giving the Huo-Long Heater a change meter similar to MMMPH that makes the Heater fire incendiary rounds for a short time, or dealing damage would build up flares the Heater could shoot with alt-fire, perhaps even allow the Heavy to use for mini rocket jumps similar to the Detonator.

Second, the Brass Beast.

While I agree the Beast needs a buff, I think the best way to buff the Beast is... don't buff The Brass Beast.

There have been calls as of recently to give the Heavy four slots instead of three, so he can carry a shotgun and a lunchbox item at the same time. For the sake of brevity, I'll just keep the reasons why this would buff the Beast is, as Fishstick exposed in his Bad Weapon Academy video, the best way to use The Brass Beast is with a shotgun, since the shotgun can be used as a mobility weapon as the Heavy moves into a position where the Beast can be best used without it's crippling mobility penalties rendering its increased damage and resistance obsolete. Being able to use a shotgun and a sandvich to get into place easier and increase midfight sustain would make The Brass Beast more viable enough without touching its stats.

Though I think it could use some minor buffs too, like decreasing that ludicrous movement speed penalty from 60% to 50%, and make it so the damage resistance applies when spun up, not just when below half health, but reduce the damage resistance from 20% to 15%, maybe 10%.

Third, the Molotov Cocktail

I like this idea; functional, in theme, and gives Heavy an answer to Vaccinator Medics, but I suggest one change; swap places from making it a melee weapon to a lunchbox item. Heavy could drink the cocktail by pressing M1, throw it by pressing M2. This would make it another useful solo Heavy lunchbox item and automatically make the Huo-Long Heater more viable by giving Heavy a way of igniting enemies at a distance, but at the cost of being less supportive of the team.

I do need to add that that this "area denial via fire AoE" item is pretty much what The Gas Passer should be, though.

Forth, the Shoulder Bash

Neat idea, but should be placed in the melee slot instead of the secondary slot, and the change put on cooldown, just like Demo-Knight.

There isn't much use for this melee outside of battle save for getting back to the front line slightly faster than normal (though slower than the GRU, obviously), so it should probably have a faster switch to and from speed to compensate having to put away your primary in the middle of a fire fight to CC an enemy out of point blank range and into short to mid range where Heavy is ideal, at the cost of an immense damage penalty.

As for what I'd like to see, on top of giving sidearms and lunchbox items their own slots, I'd like to see the Heavy get an AK-47. It'd keep with both the Heavy's attack style of mid-range, sustained fire, and his super sterotypically Soviet theme: nothing ground breaking in power, but a serious quality of life upgrade.

I absolutely love the idea of the Rushin russian but something about it just doesn’t really feel very, how do I say this.. it doesn’t seem very, “tf2” but hey if valve ever decides to actually do something with this game maybe they could give this idea a shot, and it would be pretty cool. Also, just imagine a heavy rushing at you, full speed, terrifying.

1st taunt should do some damage akin to a version of a single point blank shotgun bullet, per “bullet”
I think the fact it leaves Heavy’s front right open balances it out quite a bit

I would add another taunt kill, named something like the Cossack Clap, where Heavy rubs his hands together, leans back and claps (at roughly enemy head height). If hit by the taunt (and killed) the enemy's head explodes.

Give the man something NEW and *DIFFERENT*! Give the man *ANOTHER WEAPON SLOT FOR LUNCHBOX ITEMS*. The man's only thing is that he has a lot of health which isn't easily reusable, thus a food item is needed. Give the man some very unique weapons that add do very little damage but have a lot of utility (preferably non-damaging utility). Give the man the old GRU back.

About what you said considering the rushing russian charge would need to have something to indicate that he has that ability (Think shields, banners, mediguns, thermal thrusters, etc) I think a Bandage wrapped on his hand would be PERFECT and it adds some ideas for other charges/reskins maybe a christmas wrapping paper or something. Molotovs for me are either going to make or break the update. Scout has the Sandman and the Wrap Assasin which have chargable throwable items on his melee. So if heavy does get one I think that the Soldier/Demoman/Pyro should get something too. Soldier has a melee which does little to no damage and is slow but he can throw his grenades that he has. The Demoman could throw his uh... things that he has on his vest. The Pyro could be able to throw whatever he has on his vest too. (Note all these would have a weapon to go with them, but it should be really really bad). Also one small thing that doesn't involve the heavy, bring back the Caber to meme status from just shitty status (and give it a taunt kill)
