I thought the rules state that the keeper has to have full control of the ball which he didn't, nothing wrong with the goal but plenty wrong with the officials.

Villa was poor on the day, every other team destroyed man united in the league. Villa was down to 10 even if you scored the penalty you could have lost the game still. United dominated villa on the day. You bottled it.

Ineffective and bias referring.

The referees this year have been terrible for pretty much all teams except Liverpool that they actively helped. That being said, in this particular game, i know that we like to bash referees, the reality is that it was extremely hard to catch some of those things. We unfortunately look at the best angles and in slow motion to see the mistake, the referee cant do that in a game. The goal by Aston Villa shouldve counted 100%, the reality is that though, i know that the goal should have counted, because i saw the replay from the best angle and in slow motion. The margins were so thin, there is no way i would've seen that during the actual game. My problem is that we have VAR but the VAR does nothing. You have VAR but you dont want VAR to interfere with the ref in most cases. This ends up being even worse. Yes the ref blew the whistle therefore the VAR cant interfere but surely the VAR could've seen the replays and realized the goal was fine. I mean the reason you have VAR was to correct referee mistakes, if the VAR doesn't have the right to stop the game and reverse a refs decision, then what's the point? I used to say that now, with VAR we see more mistakes in the PREM but after careful thought i realized that its not that more mistakes are made but rather that people are angrier now by all mistakes, because with VAR you are not supposed to have mistakes. Now, every mistake is a problem because we introduced VAR to not have mistakes. Its sad really, you try to make it better only to make it worse.

Any challenge on or near a GK refs instinctively go for the whistle, no matter the circumstances of the challenge.

As a united fan, i 100% agree with what villa are doing. They got screwed. I also hate to say this, but man city might have a case as well regarding dean henderson in the fa cup final. How is one worse than the other? Coincidently, they both involve goalkeepers, which is where i think the issue is, they are over protected in my opinion.

1. Height of ridiculous that this play can't be reviewed. This is literally the kind of play replay (VAR) was created for in the 80s, possession plays in the NFL. 2. Whistle isn't relevant since there was nobody in the area who could have stopped it/backed off when they heard the whistle.
