I have an '05 wide Glide(carb'd).
Is it ok to use regular hose clamps, since my bike is carbureted, and doesn't have high pressure fuel lines?
Thanks for the vrod info

It leaks because it's the wrong part not because the threads need stripping.

ОтветитьSomeone should tell GM, Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Mercedes design and assembly engineers that hose clamps don't work on low pressure fuel pipes. I would imagine that Harley vibrations could possibly shake them loose but seeing that my 1970 Norton Commando can't...........

ОтветитьPlease don’t put pipe dope on your drain plugs. It is not necessary and just makes a mess. We clean that off during oil changes and put a new oil ring on. This are not heavily torqued and you can easily put too much and cross thread your plug going in.
ОтветитьGreat advice
ОтветитьWhere do you get the correct hose clamps and tool to apply them? All the clamps at my local stores are the screw type. :(
Ответитьthose harley clamps that “we’re supposed to use” have a high failure rate. Ask anyone with a wethead.
