He wrote this song after his friend Suzanne committed suicide! So sad they knew he might too so they waited to tell him

Love you JT !!!!! 😢
Funny how in Jr high school I sung this in a Quire it means so much now
ОтветитьI just...
Ответитьwhenever i think of my father, this song immediately channels from the depth's. and i immediately get time traveled back to being a 10 year old, traveling around my midwestern little town going errands. it chokes me up to even finish typing this comment.
ОтветитьJan-17-2024, love it so much.
ОтветитьI play this song alot on acoustic for the sheer enjoyment . What a song❤ and his voice ❤❤❤
ОтветитьThis Song Has a Special Place in My Heart..I Was Dating a Girl and She Knew How Much I Loved it..She Died in a Car Crash..At Her Funeral I Went Across The Street To Buy Flowers and The Song Came on The Radio in The Store..Guess !!! it Was Her Way To Say Goodbye !!! RIP Natalie !!!
ОтветитьThis is the epitome of the 70s for me. Hanging out with friends and someone pulls out an acoustic guitar. Sometimes around a campfire....no cell phones. I really feel sorry for kids today. That sweet simply is gone.
Ответить👏👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьSo good
ОтветитьI got into it at 21. 1994 was a beautiful year. And James made that summer magic. A couple hippie chicks and a long road trip. Love you JT
ОтветитьMiss you Sue!!! - gone too soon
ОтветитьThis Heidi skips the whistle intro
ОтветитьNothing can beat this performance of fire & rain. True artistry
ОтветитьJT's a little older now, but his music is forever... especially this song.
ОтветитьI played this video and these lyrics at my wifes funeral!! So many people broke down!!
ОтветитьHappy to hear you're hanging in there. HS years have a lot of drama. Stay true to yourself. I'm a grandma now, and this song is my granddaughter's nap song.❤ keep updating👍🙏
Ответитьgood stuff
ОтветитьI’m a junky. This helped.
ОтветитьWhy dont we have songs like this anymore?
ОтветитьJust lost my mother from a rough battle from cancer, I’ve always liked this song, but it makes a whole lot more sense now. I miss you momma, I love you.
ОтветитьThank you, JT, for being there while I was growing up in the '70's. Still greatly enjoy your music and what you represent.
ОтветитьIts Kurt Cobains dad ahah
ОтветитьWe don’t get em like this anymore
ОтветитьJust yesterday mornin', they let me know you were gone
Suzanne, the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to
I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
Won't you look down upon me, Jesus?
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way
Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
Been walking my mind to an easy time
My back turned towards the sun
Lord knows, when the cold wind blows
It'll turn your head around
Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line
To talk about things to come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground
Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you, baby
One more time again, now
Thought I'd see you one more time again
There's just a few things coming my way this time around, now
Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you, fire and rain, now
Hi James! Quando vieni in Italia ❤❤
ОтветитьI like your comment.its truth.
ОтветитьWhen my mother lost her best friend marlena, she was so devastated. She would always listen to this song and cry. She would tell me she felt like no one else understood her. I miss my mother now and listen to it here or there. Makes me cry for her and my pain.
ОтветитьJust equisite:)
ОтветитьStephanos Tsisapas !? truly multitalented 🎾
ОтветитьI've always was thankful for this song. The burden of life is easier when it is shared. I too ask for Jesus to help me make a stand. Thanks James for sharing your story in song.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite songs to play, when busking, when alone, whenever. It just encomposses all that I feel and brings me home. thanks James.
ОтветитьShepard Pratt
ОтветитьBack in early 70s James Taylor, many hits song ❤, many memories, my parents are in my mind when I listen to this song. Tks again enjoy the music. God bless you stay safe. Read 📖 your Bible Amen
ОтветитьPriceless
ОтветитьMy favorite song of his. The first verse gets me every time. True account. Taylor's voice is soothing, a melodic balm for the soul.
ОтветитьJames Taylor's natural speaking and singing voice is a genetic heredity rare asset. Few male singers that learn to sing sound special like James Taylor, Neil Diamond, and a select others. Note how similar the intro speaking voice is in terms of its unique signature to the singing voice. A rare vocal and song writing talent.
ОтветитьThis song really resonated with me when I was a kid in the seventies. James Taylor has a very comforting voice. All the tragedy that we go through as humans. This nails it.
Ответить... I just can’t remember who(m) to send this to ... but I always thought that I would see you one more time ago ...
ОтветитьMore talent in his little finger than the most popular "artists" today. JT was on a whole different level than the average picker!
Ответить2023 is going to end.... I wish you merry Christmas and happy new year. hope everyone is doing well
Ответитьis it my imagination or is JT trying to "fix" the grammar in the song?
ОтветитьOne of my all time favs. Timley...
Ответитьartists. please. be artists. stop being brands.
ОтветитьWords cannot describe how fucking awesome this still is ❤❤❤ hard to think that it’s been over 50 years ago. Thank you James.
