Why I stopped saving, and why you should too (Asian money mindset)

Something I think we are taught from our Asian parents is to save save save. And although that advice may be relevant for them growing up, it's not always for us (and can really cap the opportunities we can give ourselves).

This is what I wish I learned earlier.

Other habits I dropped from this:

1. keeping my receipts to confirm the correct charge amounts to my CC (credit card)
2. keeping an excel sheet of the cheapest price for meats veggies and other items and using it as a guide for when to buy cheap stuff
3.going to multiple locations to get the cheapest groceries

Why:

1. the charge is pretty much always correct, except returns or one offs that may be missed
2. and 3. I just go to Costco now (don't even plan ahead and look at newspapers and recipes, which saves me a lot of time since #2 and #3 habits too way to long)
