Is this story based on the Holy Quran? I searched under Ismail/Ishmael but didn't find the Mufti's story. However, it is in the Genesis, OT. What's happening?

{ وَلَوۡ أَنَّا كَتَبۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَنِ ٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱخۡرُجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٞ مِّنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦ لَكَانَ خَيۡرٗا لَّهُمۡ وَأَشَدَّ تَثۡبِيتٗا }
[Surah An-Nisâ': 66]

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور اگر ہم ان پر یہ فرض کر دیتے کہ اپنی جانوں کو قتل کر ڈالو! یا اپنے گھروں سے نکل جاؤ! تو اسے ان میں سے بہت ہی کم لوگ بجا ﻻتے اور اگر یہ وہی کریں جس کی انہیں نصیحت کی جاتی ہے تو یقیناً یہی ان کے لئے بہتر اور بہت زیاده مضبوطی واﻻ ہے۔

ابوالاعلی مودودی:
اگر ہم نے انہیں حکم دیا ہوتا کہ اپنے آپ کو ہلاک کردو یا اپنے گھروں سے نکل جاوٴ تو ان میں سے کم ہی آدمی اس پر عمل کرتے۔ حالانکہ جو نصیحت انہیں کی جاتی ہے اگر یہ اس پر عمل کرتے تو یہ ان کے لیے زیادہ بہتری اور زیادہ ثابت قدمی کا موجب ہوتا

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall:
And if We had decreed for them: Lay down your lives or go forth from your dwellings, but few of them would have done it; though if they did what they are exhorted to do it would be better for them, and more strengthening;

Mufti Taqi Usmani:
If We had prescribed for them that they should kill themselves or that they should migrate from their homeland, they would have not done it, except a few of them. If they had done what they were advised to do, it would have been better for them, and more effective in making (them) firm.

Если бы Мы предписали им: «Убейте самих себя (пусть невинные убьют беззаконников) или покиньте свои дома», - то лишь немногие из них совершили бы это. А если бы они совершили то, чем их увещевают, то так было бы лучше для них и сильнее укрепило бы их.

{ وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ }
[Surah Al-Hâqqah: 44]

اور اگر یہ ہم پر کوئی بھی بات بنا لیتا.

اور اگر اس (نبی) نے خود گھڑ کر کوئی بات ہماری طرف منسوب کی ہوتی

And if he had invented false sayings concerning Us,

Had he (the prophet) forged some statements in Our name,

And not one of you could have held Us off from him.

O My Lord! Teach me something that I can remember You with and I can supplicate You with.

Say “la Ilaha Illallah”.

Say “la Ilaha Illallah”.

Prophet Musa Alayhis Salam said:

I want something that particularly belongs to me.

Then ALLAH Ta’ala Said:

If the Seven Skies and the Seven Earths are put into one pan (of the scale) and “la Ilaha Illallah” is put into the other; “la Ilaha Illallah” would be heavier.”


Recite La ilaha illallah (100 times) everyday because it is heavier than the whole universe.
