Tutorial: How To Make Custom Brushes (In Clip Studio Paint!)

As someone who has recently switched from Photoshop for 16 years to Clip Studio Paint, thank you SO so much!!

In the new CSP it has settings for a 2nd brush. Do you (or anyone) know how to use it effectively?

VERY IMORTANT!

If you are trying to make a brush tip, you must have the layer you are trying to register as a material SELECTED. I drew a bunch of plant variations and didn't understand why all the layers except the first were coming up as blank squares in the materials folder... it's because I was just turning them visible and not actually selecting the layer before hitting "register material->image".

I thought it was looking at the canvas as a whole but it actually just takes whatever is on the specific layer you've selected.

Holy cow, I have been combing through videos trying to find the best explanation for making brushes in CSP, and yours is by far the best I've found. Your examples and way of explaining things really help me follow along. Thank you for making this video, it is helping me out so much!

I really liked this tutorial however I have been struggling to find one that would explain to me how to make a brush with the following qualities: Wiggle or like wavey line, smooth strokes with these wiggles instead of having to hand draw each and every wiggle everytime.

Can you do a tutorial where actually make a special brush? I have the art for a special brush I want to make (it's faces that I want to turn into a brush so I can make clothes look like they have little faces on it). But when I made the brush, the faces got warped and came out like a texture when I drag the brush across the canvas. I can't get the faces to keep their shape like how your fern brushes keep their shape.

my material isn't showing up no matter what tag I use. its in image materials > brush and I still can't find it.

I wish I was fortunate enough to be able to afford clip studio paint but for now I'll stick to my other programs. I have so many art programs and then some, this is the ONLY ONE I'd want most. But because of different looking brushes and my own art style, I think I'd need them all! BRUSHES ARE EVERYTHING!

The default organization of everything isn't the same as how these artists have it so the instructions end up being like trying to read a map backwards.😓

There also seems to be an issue with 👉keeping the brush in my list of brushes👈

They end up just being for the one project, and then I have to look for the brush again next time I start a project.🤔

Once I've created a custom brush, it won't let me pick its color. It's always black no matter what color I choose. Is there a way to fix that?

I don't know why, but my brush is not affected by the pen pressure, I don't know if it's from my program or table
if anyone that had the same problema could help me :(
