I wish the husband from the other family stated how dirty and messy Kristi was and how she didn’t have meals prepped and ready on time. Per the producer and voiceover, it’s stated (after the husband and one of the sons state they are hungry) that she found a lesson about recycling and food waste was more important than feeding the family on time. 🙄🥴 She just seemed like a dirty person overall. 1 kid vs 4 kids, it still doesn’t matter…pick up the pace and feed your husband and kids who have been working and studying all day. The place was dirty with the breakfast dishes still out by the end of the day. 🤦🏼‍♀️

That first meal really did need a prayer! She didn’t even put seasoning or garlic or onion in it. 🤢🤮

I am so shocked by the religious comments on this video. The absence of logic is just so mind blowing. It's not that religious or atheist households are that different perse. You have different cultures and routines from other people. That is the same for 2 families with the same religion. Everyone is different. So fucking judgemental and arrogant. 😮

This is the first time in the NZ series that these families are typical kiwis.
However, I don't understand how the Maori family "used to be" self sufficient but don't have a compost bin/pile or recycle anything.
I'm vegan (vegetarian for 50+ years) & I would absolutely not volunteer for this show in case I was asked to handle meat.
The Pakeha woman was brave to do so. It's also typical of many Kiwis to be aware of separating waste. In Christchurch the council provides every household with 3 bins. Yellow (recycling) green (garden and vegetable waste) & red (anything that doesn't fit into either of those categories)
Typically, Kiwis are big meat eaters

No matter what you do the planet is going to burn up so all this crap about save the environment isn't going to do a thing to save the planet

Many people in these comments are complaining about how "militant" Christie is about being environmentally friendly, but it makes sense she is that way if you look at the scientific papers written about global warming. We have only one planet we can live on, and it is fast approaching destruction at our hands. It makes less sense that so many families are like the other one and don't really care/see the issue when global warming will directly impact the quality of life of their children. Also weird how the religious husband doesn't know how to make himself a sandwich. Kudos to both husbands for trying everything in such a calm and reasonable manner though.

I think the only one that I felt bad for was the vegan climate change child. She was so excited about getting a TOY! A basic necessity in childhood. She lit up when she was picking it out. Toys can also be recycled! Twice a year we go through ours and donate to the local children’s home.

Vegans and vegetarians, I have no issues with them. Heck I used to be one myself. But when you can sense their judgement in the air, towards everyone who eats animal products...that's just revolting. Nobody likes people like that.

Genesis says God gave humans and animals vegetation and every seed bearing fruit to eat. Animals were allowed for food only after the flood of Noah's time as there wasn't much vegetation to eat after that. To say their religion is eating meat is unusual to me. I never heard that before 🙄. Both of these families are self righteous in their chosen lifestyles.

Vegan mum is obviously not getting enough protein because she is having trouble with all of the physical activity. CrossFit is difficult to begin with, but without sufficient protein, it is next to impossible.

Eating animal protein has more amino acids to help build and retain muscles. I learned this the hard way and started eating meat again. The vegan wife wasn’t helping her at all in this episode especially with the dumping out the garbage like that. The other family was lovely.
