@GameTheory yeah but for sea levels to rise by 28m in the same amount as predicted in our world, a massive industrial revolution would have occured, we only see furnaces torches in minecraft, not even as close to causing sea levels to rise by 28m

I still much preferred the Rascal, and I actually think the Rascal could have its own lore implications. There is literally a mob in the caves that looks a little human but wants to play games with you. Except now there isn't.
But I would agree that the Sniffer matches well to the Fossils that have been in Minecraft for forever, which is a BIG lore implication. Good theories!

If the desert tribe invents the nether portal to escape from rising water levels, and the sniffer came from the nether itself, then how was the warm ocean tribe already using it in their culture and livelihood since before that...?

The pottery sherd for the sniffer in the warm oceans shouldn't really exist this way cuz the warm ocean tribe got wipes out before we even got to the nether ie they never met the sniffer in the place

What i dont understand is how they kept green algae in the overworld if there is not that specific algae from the nether so how do they still obtain that green coat?

For your information, sniffer fossils are also in the nether but we need to assemble them, it would make sense but the longest and probably the largest one is from the nether, the height is probably 5-6 lock tall(not sure actually), I've been busy with it, building fossils of a sniffer and assemble them together to get a clear picture of how big can it get. This was my question for quite sometime : "how big can it get?" | Type of fossil : Ribcage/Ribs

Pitcher plants can also be found in extremely northern climates as ground dwelling plants within bogs ! The purple pitcher plant is native to North America and is prevalent in many bog and fen habitats, those habitats being common in boreal ecosystems (taiga in Minecraft). I know there aren’t any true bogs or fens in Minecraft but it’s nots doing your do-diligence to not speak about them especially when the pitcher plants that grow in Minecraft are ground dwelling and those in Southeast Asia and Madagascar are vine plants
