What Schedules of Drugs Do Veterinarians Work With?

Carlos Aquino, compliance consultant for PharmaDiversion, LLC., talks about the different schedules of controlled substances that veterinarians work with. Veterinarians work with all schedules of controlled substances, but primarily with Schedule IV, which includes substances such as lorazepam and clonazepam, and drugs such as Tramadol and Soma.

Right now, Tramadol is one of the primary drugs being dispensed or prescribed by veterinarians for the patient that may be abused by the pet owner.
