Lucas Digne & Adama Traore to West Ham United?

Expecting Traore to put in a MOTM performance against Man Utd this evening now but it still won't change my mind! Digne however, would be class!

How have we let a player of Digne's stature who we were supposedly looking at to bring in at LB ( where we need new blood ) go to a club like Aston Villa for £27m .

With respect Antonio isn't a number 9, he is more of an 8.5. The three attacking midfielders weigh in with goals and Antonio goes out wide and gets a lot of assists. So Adama Traore could join that attacking pool where he could play at the front. He would need to polish up his game, but have several of our recent signings. It is true his highlights contain a lot of pointless dribbles, but he also creates end product. A goal and three assists against us for a start.
I think Antonio would shine if there was someone to share the burden of bullying defenders. There are many times when he puts a cross into the box which he would be best qualified to attack. This would certainly solve that problem.
The only unknown is if he plays in midfield would he be able to cope with the distance Moyes would want him to cover.

I have not seen enough of Traore to convince me he has anything to offer us. What I have seen has been mediocre to say the least. I thought the same of Vlasic but we went and bought him!! Digne, although short, he oozes quality. I would prefer a buy rather than a loan. We need commitment - yes please!!

Adama Traore no thanks , not good enough to displace Bowen . Lucas Digne dam fine LB , but surely his wages would be a stumbling block .

Digne is okay IF we can sign him cheaper than the reported fee, or a loan deal. He’ll be 29 in July and we already have a 32 year old Cresswell. It also depends on what the fallout with Benitez was about. If he has a poor attitude I wouldn’t sign him no matter how good he is.

IF we signed Traore i dont think he would be used as a striker, he has got the speed to get a team up the pitch at pace on the counter which is something we lack. Would have to trust Moyes as he has got more things right than wrong

Bowin is better than Traoure ! , i heard everything from you! . Bowin has only one or 2 bright moments in all the game , when the game is concentrated 70 % from his side , the rest is waste land , Traoure can chauve a bowin in his back and still rice till the golly without taking his breath.

Totally agree with you on both players, Geo. Traore did a couple of nice things for Wolves against ManU last night but not enough to think he will be more than a depth player for us. The Everton guy sounds like a great option for us though! COYI.

In terms of priority I think the position of CB due to number of goals conceded and Diop’s errors is more alarming. Johnson looked dependable up until half time at left back.

If we can loan Luca Digne great but given his wages too this would eat up the bulk of our budget as a permanent signing. This deal just doesn’t strike me as a Moyes signing given the player profile. Antonee robinson fits the mould here.

We need a centre half to compose that backline, Caletta-Carr is my preferred choice even with the idea of Ogbonna returning competition is healthy and we don’t know how a long term injury will affect his performance as a 35 year old.

Picking up Belotti or Nketiah for a reasonable figure may get Arsenal’s attention if an ambitious offer Jonathon David doesn’t work.

I think Adama could be converted to a RWB. He has the speed and stamina to get up and down the flank for a full 90 and he could really pair well with Bowen who could cut inside and shoot in a 343. Think of his role as similar to what Victor Moses had under Conte at Chelsea

Adama has POTENTIAL.

wether or not you think there's enough evidence to suggest he'd be able to be a striker isn't the point. he could fill in anywhere in those front three positions and he'd do a better job than the one at wolves. not to mention we hardly have anyone who really makes an impact off the bench, and traore will do that.

the potential he has is why Klopp has his eyes on him.
Moyes knows he's been coached terribly under Nuno. and among himself and the rest of our coaches at West ham we'd turn him into a player who will make a difference.
he'd be an ideal signing for us. 20mill is an absolute steal.
so would Digne. I'm all over that, but not sure Moyes wants unprofessional players.

Good vid Geo and always interesting to hear your thoughts - I’m split, I would sign him as he is excellent on his day - he’s sliced us up before now - but…. Not as a striker and not at the cost of someone else that we need more, ie quality defender and/or striker - yes to Digne though

100% agree with your opinion on both players. It would be nice to just go and get a recognised striker instead of buying a player we hope can be converted.

Perhaps the end factor might be whether we get European football next year. Traore would then mean we could rest Bowen, which also might ensure Bowen is less likely to be vulnerable to both fatigue and injury.

I'd have traore no problem, a good addition to squad, perfect for our counter attack game, digne? Never been overly impressed by him if honest, but then again I don't watch him every week, but I'd rather another cb if honest , we have Johnson who can fill in at lb for the short-term

Surely he don't come here for bench,traore is very very pacey if he csn sort his final ball out he would be q heck of a signing,I wouldn't say no to either but not at the expense of another striker

Traore would be a great signing Moyes always improve players and Traore s raw talent honed by Moyes would be excellent. Don't know much about Digne so can't comment on him.

Why buy either when we’ve got good under 21 team players who can replace some of these players

Traore is a poor footballer. He is a pre-covid West Ham signing. No top side would sign him.

If you believe the One App Declan Rice is heading to Man Utd. We can replace him and have loads of money over for a couple of decent squad players. Soucek will be vital for us during this mini transition. There’s plenty of good players that can step into the Rice role. Conor Coventry can do a job there. If we offload yarmalenko and masuaku that’ll give us extra funds.

Moyes would have to work on his work rate and consistency maybe Traore is more work than its worth .

Wonder if Moyes could do his magic with Traore make him another Antonio still a big gamble though .

Agree 100% on both. Back injuries are really tough to come back from and I really do wonder if Cress will ever be the same, if we could get Digne on loan with an option to buy once we see how the Cress situation works out, that would be smart. Dont forget Arthur is going to the Afcon too whatever we think of him

I remember when Traore single-handedly destroyed our whole team a few years back. I find we are quite slow in build up play whereas if you have Traore in the team he will speed things up & make things happen. He is also very good at delivering crosses into the box. I think he would be a very good signing for us to be honest.

Couldn't agree more with all of that. Traore will never be a dependable finisher...I am also starting to think Hlozek might not be the answer either after speaking to Czech friends who described him as more of a 10 than out and out forward to run the line...think we have to be very careful who we bring in.
