Instead of these bright colors I wish they also included WHITE! I love my black kindle but white e-readers look amazing.

I'm still waiting for it to become a little more affordable in Norway, $343,65 for the signature edition here, and the regular edition is $308.31. But it looks really pretty in the rasberry color :D

Is it possible to get a translation of whole sentences in a easy and fast way in a Kindle e-reader without opening a web page? I wanna use it to read in spanish and need to be able to translate more than single words.

Make the pages adaptive to margins and font size. Until Kindle adds that, Kobo will always be the better ereader.

Does it turn on when opening? Do you have to use the power button?

My current Kindle is from 2015 lol - I am getting the newest one for Christmas. I thought about getting the Kobo Libra Color but have decided to stick with the Kindle. I use mine for reading only. Do not read graphic novels or comics. No need for it. My current Kindle is getting slower and slower but it lasted 9 years!

You didn't mention the Signature has 32 Gig, instead of 16 Gig. memory...

I have a Fire. I assume that this will be a huge improvement.

I have a second gen Paperwhite, curious if it's worth upgrading. I can appreciate that these updated versions can only do so much but it doesn't seem worth it if you own the previous generation, but it's something I might consider due to having an older Paperwhite.

I would rather see more of the Kindle in a kindle review than your face for 95% of the video.

You know the "reviewer" has no clue about what he is talking about when he says things like "this has a 3 months battery life".
This Kindle, like any other kindle has less than 24 hours battery life. You are just repeating Amazon propaganda and lies without any real testing whatsoever.

I upgraded from a very very old basic kindle that still has a micro usb charge port to the metallic jade paperwhite. It cold just be just me but it seems to be more of a fingerprint magnet and has a little more glare than my basic kindle did.

They have kind of reached a point where they are sort of perfect for what they are. Not much can be improved on they work so well as is. If you don’t have one sure, but if you already do don’t worry about it.

The con to me is that you need Wifi to download/shop. I’ve always had 3G/4G enabled. I haven’t heard anyone talk about this. What do you think?

Thanks for a great review. I agree with your conclusion except that you did not mention whether or not the performance improvement extended to the "link-to-Wikipedia" feature. Note that I am not picking on you; nobody ever seems to mention that in their reviews. But since I read a lot of non-fiction, I am constantly looking stuff up and I find that to be excruciatingly slow and clunky on my Paperwhite. So, for non-fiction, I generally use the Kindle app on an iPad Mini. Would you be willing to render your opinion on that aspect of the new 204 Paperwhite? Thanks.

How does it compare to the 2018 kindle paperwhite (gen 10)? I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth upgrading.

Does it lag when you turn the page? I switched to an iPad mini because I hated that the pages lagged soooo badly when I turned the page on my kindle

I have a Paperwhite signature edition from the previous generation. I was surprised but the feature I liked the most is the light sensor, I actually wanted to test the warm light but I don't like it that much, I just have it on automatic mode.

I traded my SE today for the new SE in raspberry. I’ve been noticing a lot of lag on my old SE. I hope the new one will be much better!😊

Hi. Is auto adjustment option on signature edition 12th worth to buy signature, does it make big deferences between paperwhite and paperwhite signature edition? What is your opinion?

Is ghosting normal in the paperwhite? My 12th gen has ghosting and I never noticed that in my 11th gen

I have a pretty old one (it still has micro USB), so I'm pretty excited.

Bought my kindle Voyage 12 years ago and didn't upgrade yet because it never breaks and is still just like new. Read at least a thousand book since I bought it and if it were not for the kindle I wouldn't bother to read books at all.

Is anyone having an issue that a window periodically comes up with 3 choices to: cancel, connect, or restart (I think those are the 3 choices). No matter which I choose or even ignore, the screen reverts to the picture of the boy sitting under the tree and restarts. It is most annoying and so I wonder if it is just my kindle or if I should replace it.

Can you use a page turner on this one?

About the power button on the bottom of the Kindle Paperwhite.

Earlier models of the Kindle had a setting called Screen Rotation that let the screen be rotated in any direction. In addition to portrait and landscape each of those could be set 180°. This is similar to the Oasis but done manually.

If Amazon added that setting to the new Kindles, the screen could be rotated 180° and then the Kindle could be turned upside down. This would result in the power button being at the top of the Kindle.

wow, the previous paperwhite officially only lasted 6 weeks. this new one officially last 12 weeks.

I'm coming from a 2013 paperwhite so... huge upgrade for me.

What I would like to have seen for the Signature Edition would have been at least 64GB for storage and a micro-etched glass front like on the Oasis.
I will be buying a new Signature Edition despite not having those items because my Oasis' battery is going bad and also because my generation of Oasis does not have the warm LEDs (it also has aged out of updates).

The one thing that I heard Amazon is doing that gave me tremendous amount of pause is that they are locking down the filesystem of the Kindles. Now you must use their service to sideload files to your device. Thankfully that works well, except it has a file size restriction.

hi there is a CON . on the previous generation which not many people mentioned. it has a rubbery texture on the back which has a great feeling. but prolong exposure to sun. it will kinda melt and becomes sticky. not sure it's only me. but is the new kindle paperwhite has the same back material?
