Excellent presentation! Wondrous masterpieces! Interesting his David did not have muscles yet Michalangelo`s later David is ripped and with enormous hands.

I was lucky enough to view two of these pieces (not the statue of Mary Magdalene) while in Florence, years ago. In some ways; I think I prefer Donatello's 'David' over Michelangelo's version, because of David's apparent youth and seeming vulnerability. I didn't realize that Donatello and Brunelleschi were friends! Brunelleschi has long fascinated me. It's amazing how these artists could work in different mediums.
