I am a candidate for the purchase of a white Trofeu! But...
given my age and size, the fact that I cannot open and close the hood from the outside is a major obstacle to my getting in and out of the car (considering other brands). I will need to try it out.

Fantastic looking car but as seen in another review if you're over 6 foot and have the roof down your head is touching the roof and that's just a big no no.

I wish MG would bring just a little bit of this interiour into the facelift of the MG4 so it does not look that cheap anymore from the inside.

Design wise, yes definitely. As for software and the internal screen layout not quite there yet.

You haven't mentioned what miles per Kwh you actually got from the vehicle and if it's really worth the £400 per year luxury car tax that it will be eligible for next year?

I think it looks awesome, but it has silly doors.. over engineered :( .. i might stop in a multi story, but can you still get out|?

I was lucky enough to go to the local launch of the car, already a 6 month waiting list. You did miss a few things, the doors have sensors in the top so if you're too close they stop. The doors have a range of how high they open depends on your access requirements. The orange peel look on the hinges because they are treated and strengthened . The hood can be raised or lowered up to 30 mph . There is storage in the door that has a lid to stop things falling out when raised. I'm sorry but this was a poor review ,people forget the old MGs were not cheap but we look back and think they were, it's no Beatle people's car ?. When people say it's not an MG well to be honest the same can be said the same for ,range rover even RR are now owned by overseas companies. If you're looking for a British sports car good luck.

It's a damn good looking car. But that name. Cyberster. Totally naff name for an iconic badge like MG.
Though this MG has absolutely nothing MG about it.
Not like when I had my old MG Midget. Even in winter, if it was sunny, the roof would be down. But closed roofs are not easy to put back up in the middle of winter. They harden in the cold and it's like trying to unfold a corrugated iron sheet.

Would be great as a coupe, convertibles are a waste of time in the uk.

Nice to see an EV that isn't a gigantic ugly cube on wheels. The price is a real misstep though. Who has 55K to blow on car?

There's also the odd move to change the yoke to a wheel, which destroys visibility of 2/3 of the screens. Pretty bizarre move.

For me it needs to be hard top, lose the silly gimmicky scissor doors, and reduce the price accordingly and id order one tomorrow.

If they engineered it for roads in my part of Hampshire it would have chunky off road tyres to cope with the speed bumps and pot holes. Looks nice but way too expensive - can't see me swapping my 12 year old SLK for one until they've done some proper depreciating. I don't fit in an MX-5 so it's nice that it's a bit bigger than that.

Yup, cheeky, classy, gorgeous and sexy! The car's not bad either.

Love the looks of it and this is the first of many hopefully to come to market. MG could easily do a slightly cut down version and less power to drop the price.

I don't need a convertible (family and so on), but I'd love to hire this one for a summer vacation. I hope it gets into the rental fleets.

I'm very disappointed with this car - I really don't like the doors, the rear lights and you didn't mention the childish graphics that pop up on those multiple screens. When launched, MG said the RWD car would start from 40k and the AWD from 60k. Now who in their right mind would buy the RWD car? Also, when will EV manufacturers start making cars that do not drive like a spaceship - Not only does this put insurance up, by quite a lot, but it is unnecessary on most roads these days. Perhaps it will also make them more likely to be stolen, like the Ford XR3 in its day. This car should have been an MX5 rival - lose the doors, slow it down and keep the price keen

I know efficiency miles/kwh isn’t the most important thing on a sports car but please when reviewing a car and quoting the figures can you tell us what the actual car you’re driving says on its computer for trip average and commutative average miles/kwh

China can make some really affordable sportscars, whether it's ICE or EV.

Where were these designs and these types of cars when people asked for them with ICE powertrains?

I think for a v1.0 this is really good – but not quite a must-buy. Version 2.0 – with a slightly tweaked, less fussy design, a less gimmicky interior (with screens you can actually see), and better EV underpinnings – should be excellent.

More power than a Porsche 911 but what about the engine acoustics and the weight?

Everything the Tesla roadster should have been. MG well payed. I’m not saying our girl here is the boss but she definitely said to herself “ yeah this review is mine” 😂 I think you need two months say this summer with the car maybe a trip to the South of France 😁 you know just to make sure you can give it a accurate review living with a sports EV convertible. My neck of the woods is that the old military road in the Cairngorms I did a few weeks back myself. Why is the roof up only for sound for the review because the weather looks great.

You know what, had BMW not been so ridiculously greedy with their pricing for the MINI Cooper SE Convertible EV, you'd have had your wish a whole year ago...!

One pedal driving is fine but personally I think I'd prefer to have that off most of the time and for regen to act like it does in the Renault Megan E-Tech. As long as one pedal driving can be turned off as I describe then that's fine. I'd hate to have it on all the time.
There are even debates as to whether it's even any more efficient than regen braking.

1.91 m in width... More than an EV6. Close to 2 tons. 20in wheels. Those dimensions are a bit disappointing. Not the roadster I'm looking for yet

Why do they insist on making them sound "synthy", some of us are old and set in our ways. Hyundai and their 5N have proven you can make an awesome sound, others should take note.

Well hurrah for a convertible EV that's almost a sports car, but it's not a proper MG in size, mass or country of origin. Does look like a decent GT kind of car. Instruments look a mess.

Haha, Brits complaining that MG is now owned by a Chinese firm. Don't forget it was those infamous British business men known as the Phoenix four who personally destroyed MG Rover in 2005 with their lust for greed. Brits have no luck in running sports car firms, TVR gone bust, Lotus owned by Chinese, McLaren owned by Arabs 😂
