i think that if german could sound aggressive, its only the fault of some movies, but or when people are angry, but most of the time, it's clearly not. because for the movies, sadly in the history, WW2 happened and we usually don't look all type of german movies in others countries, and when we look at movies that involve germans, its often war movies from ww2. and naz*s is thoses movies who speaks obviously german, speak it in an very aggressive way. But i really don't like to remember this part of history so i prefered to forget about it. because when i was younger, i had a travel class to germany with the school, and it was awsome, the famillies that recieved us were cool, speaks normaly, i even listen to some german music, (not rammstein), soft music btw, and its not aggressive at all. its really soft.

there is a mistake: the german "Willst du mich Heiraten?" translates actually to "Do you want to marry me?" and not "Will you marry me?". that would be "Wirst du mich Heiraten?" what is actually also said on marriages but not quite that often. Ger: willst (wollen) = Eng: to want / Eng: will = wirst (werden)

German only sounds angry if you portait it as angry. Nobody here talks agressive, and if they do they‘re actually angry. German is a beatiful language and i want everyone to live in German for just one day, bc they‘ll realize its not angry.

About the French....In fact when we think about "How are you?" The most common one is "Ça va?" for informal situation and "Comment allez-vous?" for formal situation. "Comment va-tu?" is in a awkward position, which is even less used then "comment ça va ?", which is also informal.

I love German. It’s on my list of languages I’d love to learn one day.
I speak Russian, and anytime strangers hear us speaking in public the first question we get is “are you speaking German?” And then we get told it sounds really harsh. So there’s some similarities to the untrained ear 😂

I worked in a factory which had a lot of Latino employees. One time, I decided to eat in the break room where the latinos tend to congregate, and an older woman complemented my eyes. I didn't understand her, but a girl who was younger than me told me what she said. After that, I heard a number of girls singing, "Bonitos mirares." I thought that they were saying "pretty eyes" in Spanish because I figured they saw eyes as mirrors. More recently, I googled it, and it seems to mean "nice looks." Then the girl who told me what the lady said proceeded to teach me how to say I have a small penis.

German and French probably simply have similar words because of geographical proximity. French does have elements of Celtic influence (mo chroidhe and ma chere have the same meaning, but different pronunciations), but that is a separate language family from the Germanic languages.

There is an interesting difference between english and german, when it comes to the final question at the wedding. The answer to the question "Will/Would you marry this man/woman?" is quiet the same word in german and english, but with different meanings.
In english you say "I will" which means 'Ich werde' in german. But in german we say 'Ich will' which means 'I want to' in english.
I like the german one better. While the english one sounds a bit like 'Yeah, yeah I'll do that", in german it's like a wish from the heart❣️

Most people have the wrong perception that German sounds aggressive because of Hollywood movies or old scenes of Hitler shouting rage fully. In reality, if you truly pay attention when visiting Europe, French sounds more aggressive than German.

Sorry, but the German native speaker in this video has no idea about her mother tongue. She does not give the right words and phrases. I think she should go back to school or do some reading urgently! Like "It´s a pleasure" or "enchanté(e)" would simply be "angenehm" in German and not the mile long sentence she says would be adequate.
