Is it Worth It To Buy A Brothers' War Commander Deck? A Magic: The Gathering Product Review

These decks were on holiday sale this year for 20€, snagged both of them and for that price point they're perfect

I just got in to Magic two weeks ago now and have the Mishra Precon per my game store’s recommendation. Can confirm it’s tricky to figure this deck out.

Do you think you can use these pecons as a base for a Urza Lord high artificer?

I returned to the game since 2003..bought some commanders decks, put some duals, and other stuff, and this Urza's its rolling far better than Eldraine ones, even more against dominaria ones, (these ones even with lots of adds sucks big time)

the print quality wasn't necessarily poor, but definitely too dark.

might just be because i got it late, but i got my urza deck for a mere 36 dollars, and i find myself have gotten good value for my money

I got my mishra deck for $30 today. not too bad. I know he was saying $20 would've been perfect but I felt where Im at I wouldnt have been able to get it cheaper than that

I just got the Mishra precon and was amazed at the quality of the reprints and construction of the deck. Picked it up for staples but it's become the first precon I leave as is.

I think these precons are really cool, and ended up buying both of them

Idk about anyone else but i love the old school look idk maybe i like some old school stuff also they have a very fun deck and is worth buying.

the only issue i have with these decks is theres no white border on the reprited cards

Well...for me it's a solid +A as my sample booster came with a foil extended gix, yawgmoth praetor 😅

I bought the Mishra’s deck I love the retroframes ❤ specially the multicolored cards omg 😱 but you’re right some cards are really murky 😢

I have a ruling question. If I use a Sol Ring with a Forsaken monument does it tap for 4 colorless?

WOTC needs to learn how to properly foil a card. Just foil the picture like everyone else so they don't fold like that. I don't like to cheat, and it makes it nearly impossible not to.

You had me at all cards in retro frame, even if they are not everything they could have been. I've disliked the "new frames" since mirrodin

Just a note: you compared two black producing lands in retro frame with apocalypse set lands. I believe that matters.

I just bought a Mishras commander deck yesterday and i believe I got a misprint box.. I have two copies of Mishra & Ashnod.

Of course I can tell the difference between the proxy & a actual mtg card.

I skipped these decks. The new cards weren't of my liking, and reprints were also lackluster.

My lgs had them at 40 bucks. I got Mishra’s, and I’m really happy with it. I do agree the inking is a tad dark.

I played the Mishra precons at a Commander night and won one of my 3 games playing it!!! Its one of the best Precons I've seen in a while!!!!

Yes, the price is a bit high but I did find those @100$ CAD for both (50$ CAD each) so it's kinda nice! Lack of new cards playable outside the precons is a bit frustrating but still, the decks are well constructed.

Too bad they discontinued just normal precontsturcted decks,plainswalker decks and now its only commander decks

Yes I agree the color and frames are off and distracting. I found myself doing a mulligan because I thought I had no lands. Turns out they were just artifact lands. And the darkness makes it hard to focus for some reason. That being said, the cards inside are absolutely awesome.

The Urza deck is stupidly strong for a precon... Possibly one of the strongest precon they ever released. It destroyed our table many times vs regular decks x) Affinity for artefacts is totally broken.

I think the print quality is actually pretty good, but can have an inconsistent miss here or there. I mean, just look as you tab through the deck while discussing it, the cards look amazing in retro!

Wtf sense does it make lore wise to put the lithoform engine into mishra's, much less ANY commander deck from the brothers war. How did mishra get it?! Did he steal it from Nahiri on zendikar? How did he do that?!

My local game shop is running a "Buy 2, Get 2 Free" sale on Commander decks, so I picked up 2 of each of these decks. I couldn't pass up that deal, and I'm looking forward to trying them out!

I really enjoy playing artifact decks. So I like these. The print quality was just too dark. 😔

Maybe if these fall enough I’d pick em up. The frames are cool, but I don’t wanna pay a premium for the quality they’re at.

Two of my cards from the mishra deck I bought had chunks missing in the corner. It would be more of a pain to return the entire product than just buy two more cards as well:/

With Wizard's printing presses working 24x7 and burying us in product, its hard to believe any modern card gets over 5$ anymore.
